"Valery what's wrong?" Naomi looked concerned.
"They found out about the Undercity. They want to dart a revolution."
There was silence as both of them digested this information then all at once James jumped for the phone and phoned the base. After a tense conversation with Jacob he told us that our mission was all the more important now because if we could find a way to get rid of the Serpent quietly then there wouldn't be war.
He had told us not to worry because there was no way that Exodus could outsmart the Morning Star. I tried not to feel offended at that but I still wanted to defend my group but I found that he was right. The Morning Star had the numbers and worked in the shadows pulling the strings. No one could move in any city with them knowing about it.
"What are we going to do?"
I though for a moment, "the only thing we can do, make a plan and leave at first light."
James coughed slightly and nodded at the map, giving Naomi a significant look. "what is it?" looking at both of them back and forth for a moment "what's wrong?"
"There is one small problem. There's and FTK base only few miles from where we think the tomb is and so the whole area has been put in lockdown. There's no way in."
I thought for a moment. "James if I can get you an FTK uniform then would you be able to sneak your way into the area?"
"Of course but you don't have an FTK uniform stashed under your bed so you?" He raised an eyebrow questioningly.
I smiled slightly, "no but I can get one."
"How?"
I winked and tapped my nose, "that you really don't need to know."

I woke before the sunrise the next morning. Naomi and James had both left not much after the sudden revelation about Exodus.
We had agreed to wait until I could get my hands on a uniform which judging from my previous experiences with the FAC wouldn't been terribly difficult.
Sleep had not come easily for me. My mind had been filled with images of war. I hoped that Matt would see sense but I knew that as nice, kind and forgiving as he was that he could be very stubborn and quite dense at times.
After dressing quickly I managed to find my way down to where breakfast was being held when I entered the room silence fell.
Many pairs of curious eyes stared at me as I made my way to a table with a piece of toast in hand. Ever so slowly hushed conversations began to circulate the room once again.
I could hear the hushed whispered conversations.
"So she's the special agent."
Doesn't look like much to me." I felt myself redden at that comment. I was sure they were referring to the fact I was rather small and slim.
"She's the one from Eden. she so luckily to live there."
I tried not to listen but their whispers were very loud and in my job I had grown accustomed to having to strain my ears to listen to every hushed word that was being said.
From what I had learned people here were just as curious about life in Eden and about me as I was about about the rest of the world.
Suddenly the room hushed again. I looked up to see Matt and Johnny entering the room looking tired. When they came in my eyes immediately locked with Matt's. He had this sad, slightly angry look on his face and after a moment I had to look away.
Both came and sat at the table in the corner where I was. I could feel Matt's eyes on my and I couldn't help the heat that rushed into my cheeks Turing them a bright red I was sure.
"How the case going?" I jumped when Johnny's baritone voice broke the silence.
Chancing a glance at Matt made me see that there was a determination in his eyes that told me he wasn't going to back down and that he would as me about the Undercity.
I cast my eyes back to my now cold toast, hardening my resolve. Without looking up at them again I answered, "case is closed. It was a tragic accident."
"What?" I could hear the confusion in Johnny voice.
Looking up I met his gaze head on "it will say on my report that it was an accident."
He shook his head, "I'm still confused. So it was just an accident?"
"No."
"Well then why-"
"Look" I interrupted him " the Morning Star are investigating the issue now which means it's officially closed to Exodus."
His face contorted into something akin to rage. "you can't do that. This is my city!"
I stood up, "no Johnny this is the Morning Star's city." I looked around the room to see all the people who had abandoned their food in favour of listening to our argument. "look around you Johnny how many of these people do you think are in the Morning Star? I would guess about three or four." I stood up and began walking towards the door but I stopped and turned when I reached the exit.
Looking at Matt's conflicted face I felt a bit of guilt but not enough to stop what I was about to say. "This city is the Morning Star's, every city is." With those parting words I walked away from the mess hall and away from Exodus.
I didn't know at the time but that would be the last time I saw any of the Gospels for a long time.
