Matts P.O.V
It had been a few days since the storm and when Becka had agreed to help me make Valery jealous, so far it wasn't going terrible well.
She had been avoiding myself and Becka all week and only came to the manor when there was a meeting. When she had been here she had seemed happy and even told Becka that she was glad that Becka and I were going out.
"Matt, their ready for you." came Cain's voice from the door.
"Ok, I'll be there in a minute." Getting up I walked into the room adjoining my office. It was quite bare, with a small round table and a screen covering the wall.
The screen was what I most interested in. Looking back at me were the rest of my family.
"Look its Matty!" Sang Marco, I rolled my eyes.
"Don't call me Matty Marc."
"You can't tell me what to do, I'm older."
"Yes but age doesn't necessarily mean wisdom." I contunied on to to talk to the others before Marco got my insult. "So what's the update in Japan?" I asked looking to Lucas.
He sighed "Pretty much the same, the people are hungry and angry. We need more doctors out here if we want to stop disease spreading. The people out here are getting restless they want blood, more specifically the blood of the Serpent."
I nodded most of the world was like that. Not enough food, not enough doctors and medicines and the people were angry, furious in fact. All it would take would be one small push and there would be a rebellion.
"Matt? Hello?"
"What?" I was snapped out of my thoughts by Johnny. If I were to look at Johnny then at a mirror I would see very few differences. Out of all my brothers I was closest to Johnny, of course we were twins so that would be expected. One of the only differences between the two of us is out personalities, I would do anything to destroy Eden while Johnny abhors the idea of hurting anyone, no matter who they are.
"Matt!"
"What?"
"Good, I see you can hear me."
"Get on with it Johnny." Called Marco, "some of us have things to do."
"Uh fine, we've had a few...disturbances here in the past couple of days, it's probably just nothing but, I'm just a bit wary."
I started to listen carefully after Johnny said that, 'What kind of disturbances, like the weather?"
"Yeah but not just that, here have been reports of peopling going missing on the banks of the Nile." he gave a questioning look, "how did you know?"
Lucky guess." I said, I was almost certain the strange weather patters had something to do with Valery. When she had came in after the storm Maia had been soaked but Valery hadn't even been damp.
"The Serpent can't control control the weather but they could have something to do with the disappearances, keep a look out and if there are any more then I'll send one of my field agents to investigate they're the best qualified for the job."
There was a soft knock at the door and Valery walked in, "Matt, Becka wanted me to give you this." she said while holding out a small piece of paper. "Beats me why she couldn't give it to you herself but apparently she has better things to do."
Her hand brushed mine as she gave me the note and I couldn't help but notice the faint blush that painted her cheeks a light pink colour.
I managed to stutter a thank you, being around Valery had always made me nervous. She turned to leave but stopped turning to look at the screen.
