I was sitting at my desk in my office upstairs. My new job was a bit stressful, but it paid well. It even helped pay with this house. I was finishing up some reports when two little wolves ran down the hallway and passed my door, screaming at each other playfully as they ran to their bedroom. I poked my head out of the doorway and looked across the hall to where one of them, the smaller black one, was on the top bunk bed dueling the slightly larger whiter-colored one. Little foam swords in grasp.

The office chair groaned as I leaned back, the summer wind carrying warmth and the smell of people cooking through my window. Eh, what the hell.

"Hey kids, I was thinking that after your father finishes cooking dinner, would you guys like to get some ice-cream?" I asked the two playing children as I walked to their bedroom's doorway.

"YES!!" They both simultaniously shouted, dropping their foam swords and running up to hug me.

"Remember, dinner first. Including the..." I paused for a second to sniff their air, "I think carrots."

"In that case, you two better wash your hands and hurry down to the table, dinner is ready." My husband said, leaning against me and hugging me from behind.

"C'mon dads! Ice-cream!" The two pups yelled, running back down the stairs and pretending to be airplanes. As we heard the kids pull back their chairs I fell into a passionate kiss with the wolf in front of me. Everything was perfect in our lives, two kids (both through surrogates of course), a house, all of it. It was just perfect.
