Chapter 29

Mya's POV

"Mya get up!"

"Ugh! Why?"

"Cause it's graduation day!" Marlon exclaims while jumping up and down on my bed.

Its finally here! It seems like just yesterday I was walking into that school, excited and ready to start the year.

I'm excited but kinda upset at the same time. I'm excited because I'm finally graduating, but I'm upset because Tai, Gabby, Nathan, and Ronnie won't be there.

All of our graduations are on the same exact same day. It's kinda crazy but I guess it's okay since I'll see them later today when we celebrate.

I get up since Marlon obviously won't leave me alone until I do. I hop in the shower, brush my teeth and all that good stuff, and do my hair. I decide to just wear it down so it'll look right with my cap. I pull out a dress that Tai bought me. The top of it is baby blue and the bottom is a solid black. I decide to wear my black heels with it.

"Hurry up girl," Marlon says as he enters my room. I hand him my cap and gown, and we head to the car.

"Aww look at you," I tease him as we're driving. He's wearing black jeans with a nice, white button down shirt and black dress shoes. His face is clean and shaved, for once, and he got a fresh cut yesterday.

"Yeah I know I look good," he says with a smirk. I roll my eyes and laugh.

We pull up to the school and rush inside. As soon as I get inside, my friend Jenna rushes towards me and pulls me into a tight hug. "O. M. G. You look great!" the dark haired girl says to me. "Thanks. You do too," I tell her.

We line up and Marlon grabs my hand.

"You ready," he asks.

I smile. "Yep."

The ceremony went well and I could hear Tré and Chantel screaming for Marlon and I. I swear they were the loudest people in the building.

Marlon and I go to greet them. I see my ten month old niece, Valerie, sleeping in Chantel's arms.

"Tré!" I yell while running to him. He chuckles as I pull him into a hug. Its been years since I've seen him in person and I missed him so much.

"You are too big to be jumping on me like that girl," he says.

"Or maybe its cause you're old," I tease. He playfully punches my arm and we laugh.

"Mya!" I hear a small voice shout from behind me. I turn around to see Jeremiah running towards me with Riley not far behind him. When Jeremiah finally gets to me, he jumps into my arms and I spin him around. Riley hugs me and we all talk for a while before leaving.

Marlon planned for all of us to go to this place called Karaoke Cave so we can celebrate.

"Since when do you like karaoke?" I ask Marlon when we pull up to the place. "I don't know. I thought it would be fun," he smirks. I look to him with a raised brow but I don't say anything. Instead, I hop out of the car and walk into the building.

The place is really nice and I can already spot Gabby and Ronnie. Gabby and I run to each other and hug dramatically. We laugh and find a table.

After a couple minutes of talking, Nathan shows up. I can't help but laugh at Marlon. He's grinning from ear to ear and he gives Nathan a long hug. Nathan pecks him on the cheek before sitting with us at the table. I look all around the restaurant but there's no sign of Tai. It gets a little awkward as I sit here alone and my friends are hugged up and kissing on their dates.
