Yasmine
Excitement and Nervousness is what ran through my body right now as I pulled up to an event in Vegas I was invited to. I was invited to answer questions from some of my fans along side other amazing ladies. I got out of the car and flashes immediately hit my eyes as I walked through. I stopped to take some pictures with a few fans waiting outside and then my body guard escorted me inside.I took a deep breath and straightened out my hair and dress making sure I still looked okay. I went back stage and met a couple of the other ladies that I would be sharing the stage with. They were either entrepreneurs, authors, or up and coming actresses and it was a blessing and a honor to be in the same room with them. We were all handed mics and escorted on stage and the crowd went crazy.
I chose a chair on the end and turned on my mic smiling towards the crowd seeing all the young ladies. Some of which even had signs for us on the stage.
Hello everyone I would like to say thanks for coming out to support these women and to ask all your questions you have for them today. We also promised you a special guest speaker who we are so thankful to have join us today. Ms. Rihanna.
As soon as the orchestrator said that the crowd went crazy and so did us ladies on the stage. I was beyond excited to be sharing the stage with Rihanna. She was a woman I looked up to everyday.
She walked on the stage waving and took a seat next to me and my stomach dropped. She smiled at me and I smiled back probably looking like a goof.
Okay all of the people that have questions please calmly walk up to the mic in a single file line. Each of you are allowed three questions a piece.
My first question is for Yasmine. A girl that looked to be about fifteen said and I smiled directing my attention towards her.
I don't normally talk about it but I deal with depression and I'm sometimes insecure but you are a person that I look up to, and you help me through that. What would you recommend for someone like me just starting high school and is becoming a young woman to deal with that?
"Believe it or not behind the scenes I also struggle with mental illness, and it's not something that I usually just go around and talk about but I've had struggles with it a lot since my career kicked off. I was hospitalized and you know you start to wish it would all just go away so you could live normally."
"The first step is to accept who you are and accept that it is apart of you without letting it handicap you from being able to enjoy your life. Realize that yes you're going to have bad days but try not to let them take over your whole day. You're a beautiful young lady and you have so much life ahead of you to enjoy and so much to come to you. Make sure you have people around you to help you and who support you with your flaws."
"Don't be scared to reach out and ask for help ever. Use your illness in you favor. I'm so happy I'm someone you look to but not just me all of these women on this stage are people all of you should look up to." I smiled and seen her start crying.
Thank you so much I love you. She smiled.
"Aw I love you too." I threw up a heart.
Surprisingly a lot of the young women had questions for me which I didn't expect. It really made me happy I was a woman a lot of these young girls looked up to. It made me want to work harder and push myself even more to be a better person because I knew I had people checking for me and looking at me. It warmed my heart that they were so comfortable sharing the things they did with me, I felt like a proud sister or something.
