Janet's Birthday Party

Toni's Pov

Today is my baby's birthday and she's still looking as fierce as ever. I made sure that today will be one of those days that she'll never forget. I made a stop to a traveling agency and got one of her birthday gifts then made my way over to the other places. Jan told me that she just wanted a simple quiet dinner nothing too over the top but I call bullshit on that. If I were Janet Jackson, I'd be parting like it's my last day on earth which means EVERYTHING will be over the top.

I made one last stop to get the most important gift. This one meant everything to me and I hope someday it'll mean everything to her through out the years. Mrs Jackson had called to remind me that she'd be coming over early since she was close along with the rest of the family. The only person that gave me trouble was of course the infamous Joe Jackson. The man is so difficult to deal with and apparently, he's still not for Janet and I being together.  If he can't accept us being together then to hell with him. I'm not diving between his thighs every night so it really shouldn't bother him.

I called Oprah since she'll be a guest and I needed a huge favor. Yes Oprah and I had our differences back then but this isn't about me. She answered her phone on the third ring.

Oprah: Oprah Winfrey speaking

Toni: Hi Oprah it's Toni...Toni Braxton.

Oprah: Toni dear how are you? Long time no see

Toni: Very long. Listen I don't wanna keep you on here for too long because I know you're busy but Janet is having her birthday party tonight and she would love it if you came.

Oprah: Did she say that?  Or did you say that?

Toni: Okay I'm inviting you. It's a surprise and you two are quite close so I know it'll make her happy to see you.

Oprah: Alright. Fine I'll be there.

Toni: Thank you so much. Another thing, I heard that you know someone who breeds Pomeranians. Can you get one for Jan?

Oprah: I'll see what I can do

Toni: Thank you so much

Oprah: Mhm and Toni?

Toni: *rolls eyes* yes?

Oprah: I hope this isn't the last call you make to me.

Toni: Of course not. See you tonight

That went better then I expected so now all I have to do is sit back and watch my baby be happy. The places are reserved, the food is being prepared, the gifts or stacked, the guests are in and now all we need is the woman of the hour. She thinks that I'm out at the studio working on music but she has no idea what I have in store. I told her that I would send a car to pick her up because we were going out to "dinner". I had to go big or go home for my baby and she deserves nothing but the best. I had over 100 guests including Patti Labelle, Monica, Brandy, SWV, Tyler Perry, the kids, Oprah and I doubt she'll bring her man out and so much more.
