Toni's Pov

I was asleep next to Janet. It's been a couple months since that night. I blamed myself ever since it happened. I would never forgive myself if I lost her. I watched her sleep so peacefully. I felt the tears well up in my eyes once again. I laid my head on her chest and I held her hand in mines.

I suddenly felt something slightly squeeze my hand so I jolted up. It can't be...they said she won't be waking up anything soon.

Toni: Jan? Baby? Do that again...please

Nothing.

Toni: *tears up* p-please baby squeeze my hand again.

Nothing.

Toni: *crying* come on baby I know you can do it

Suddenly, she squeezed the hell out of my hand. I didn't care about the pain I was excited that she was awake. I yelled for the nurse. When she came in, she looked like she saw a ghost. She then ran for the doctor. The doctor came in  and did a few tests. Finally she opened her eyes and immediately looked at me.

Toni: welcome back baby

She just stared at me. She then looked at the doctor who for some reason knew what she was saying even though she said. Nothing at all. He got up and came back with a cup of water. She drank it down quickly then turned back to me.

Toni: how are you feeling baby?

Janet: *raspy voice* um *coughs* I'm fi- what am I doing here?

Toni: now is not the best time baby let's just focus on getting you better.

Janet: did something happen?

Toni: uh nothing you should worry about anymore baby.

Janet: how long was I here?

Toni: a few months. *tears up* they were gonna pull the plug today if you hadn't work up.

Janet: how did I get in here *tries to sit up*

Toni: be careful baby you don't wanna move too fast.

Janet: Toni look at me

Toni: huh? *avoids eye contact*

Janet: look at me baby

Toni: *looks at Janet* 

Janet: what happened?

Toni: *sighs* Suzan happened

She looked at me lost. I contemplated if I should tell her what happened. I didn't want her to blame herself. What she did and what happened was out of her control and she did what she thought was the right thing.
