I entered this book into the Wattys awards too, along with my other book. But I'm having second thoughts about entering this book. I feel like withdrawing it back.

S I E R R A ‘S P. O. V.
Collecting my bag of groceries from the cashier after she was done packing, I left the supermarket and went out into the chilly night. It’s like Gemma and I have automatically fallen into a routine where we go grocery shopping during the night. A sad sigh left my lips at the thought of Gemma.
I missed my best friend so much. I couldn’t tell the last time I have seen her, the day she got discharged from the hospital, her mother took her away. She even went as far as to threaten us. My dislike for her has transformed into hatred. I could understand her dislike for Tyler, I mean, he is the reason why Gemma ran away. But she doesn’t know me, she hasn’t seen me before and she immediately classifies me as one of Tyler’s friends. I mean, Tyler and I are something but I would say we're friends as yet. I say the lady is trying to treat Gemma as a child because she doesn’t have any memory of us. She even took my god babies from me! If it wasn’t for Gemma I would have taken them back because as their god mother, I had the right to, but those kids have missed their mother so much, crying, whining and screaming every minute for their mom. I was reminded of when they were just born. All the stress they put my family, Gemma and I through, and I would do it again. I love them as much as I love my daughter.
A callous hand covering my mouth and another wrapping around my neck brought me out of my thoughts. My eyes widen in fear and I immediately let go of the grocery bag and grabbed the hand around my neck and tugged. I was being pulled to god knows where. I kicked, pulled and screaming, they became more frantic when I was being pulled into an alley.
“Shut up!” A raspy voice growled low in my ear. “And stop moving.”
I shivered in fear, tears flooded my ears as the worst scenario projected itself in my mind. I was going to die.
I was flung to the ground. “So you think you can just up with the Mayor’s kid and run away eh?” He asked, chuckling afterwards. “Well guess what? You’re going to take me back with you to your apartment, you’re going to get the kid from that old lady and you're going to leave with me back to Diana Falls.”
Finding the courage, I spat in his face. “You and the Mayor can go choke on his dick. I'm not coming back and my daughter is going nowhere.”
When I saw the hand, it was too late. I screamed in pain when the punch was delivered. Suddenly, the man wasn’t standing over me. I heard painful groans and grunts, someone had come to my rescue. I watched as the stranger delivered hit after hit until the man was unconscious. Turning and staggering towards me, the stranger asked me if I was okay as he wiped the sweat from his forehead. His voiced sounded so familiar but I couldn't match the face with the voice because of the dark. The man helped me up and helped me towards the street where my groceries later scattered out on the ground. I took a look at my hero and gasped.
“Dylan?”
The man groaned and grumbled underneath his breath. He looked at me.
“What are you doing here?”
Suddenly, the man’s fscisl expression changed to one of anger. “I’m not Dylan,” He spat harshly. “I just fucking saved you and that is all the fucking thanks I got! If I had known then I would have left you.”
He turned to walk away.
“Wait! What?” This couldn't possibly be Dylan. Dylan has never been this harsh to me. The Dylan–look–alike turned back to me. I examined his face. He looked exactly like Dylan, except, he had a baby face that was very much good looking. My breath hitched. “Y–you’re not Dylan.”
The guy pushed his hands into his pockets. “No I’m not. I’m his twin, Lucas.”
My eyes widened. This is Lucas? “I didn’t know that Dylan had a twin.”
“Has not had. I'm not dead yet.” His eyes drifted towards the ground. “Here, let me help.” He walked up to me then stooped down and started picking up my groceries.
I watched him in shock. Dylan had a twin brother, wow. Getting back up, Lucas chuckled at the shocked expression that was still on my face.
“Here. Sorry about being do harsh to you back there.”
I took my groceries from him. “T–thank you.”
He nodded. “I actually followed you.”
My eyes widened and I stepped back.
“No, no, no. The guy has been following you since you left the grocery store and I was there and saw and I decided to follow you.”
I let out a sigh of relief. “Okay.”
He nervously ran his hand through his hair. “My, ugh, my car is back at the grocery store, do you, you know, need a lift?”
A small smile appeared on my lips. Observant, caring and kind, how sweet. I nodded. “That would be lovely.”
We headed back towards the Grocery store. While in the car, as a way to build coversatiin, he asked me my name.
“So you know me, but I can’t say the same,” He said. “What’s your name?”
“Sierra,” I answered softly.
“Sierra,” He echoed. The way he said my name made a shiver run down my spine. My eyebrows furrowed, what was that?
“I’m Gemma’s best friend.”
I was flung forward faster than I could start screaming. There was also a screech behind us, the driver of the car behind us beeped angrily before over taking us, spitting profanities at us angrily as he did. I stared at Lucas is fear and disbelief. Why the hell did he stop the car?
“Are you crazy? One of us could’ve been hurt!”
“Who’s friend are you?” He asked so monotonously that I felt like I was talking to someone evil.
I sucked in a deep breath. “Haven’t you heard? Gemma is back—”
“I know,” He cut me off sharply. “But you just said that you're Gemma’s best friend.”
I nodded. “I am.”
Lucas took in a deep breath and started driving again. “Okay.”
The drive was filled with awkwardness after that. Like why was he so tense when I mentioned Gemma name?
In no time, the car pulled up to the apartment complex.
“Thank you for coming to my rescue and taking me home,” I said as I got out of the car. I closed the door and nodded at him.
“You’re welcome, don’t mention it.” There was so much tension in his body and voice.
I watched his car as he drove off then sighed.
Tyler’s friends are so creepy and weird… ‘pecially that Tasha girl.
