Sierra and the kids stared out the window of the cab in awe.

"Look," She said pointing to another skyscraper. "It's so tall."

I shook my head in amusement. It was her first time being to New York and she would'nt move her eyes from the window. I held my sleeping daughter in my lap and I too stared out the window. My mind drifted towards my parents I had been keeping tabs on them since I've left. They were in the newspaper the other day; mom had handed over her company to Carla, my oldest sister and dad had handed over his company to Jackson, my oldest brother and Carla's twin.

They bought a house on the outside of the city since their younger children were still going to school. I knew the address but I wasn't planning on visiting them anytime soon. They would probably have a heart attack if I popped up on their doorstep suddenly. I yearned to reunite with them, but I was afraid of their reaction. It's sad that the only reason why I came back New York is because of that disgusting Mayor.

I blinked and realized that the cab had stopped infront of an apartment complex. I got out of the cab and stared up at the building. It was huge and high. The driver took out our luggage, I still don't see how so many suitcases could hold in the car trunk. There was two males standing outside and they helped bring our luggages inside the building. I walked behind them with Sierra behind me pulling two suitcases, Ava, Aiiden and Asher were pulling one of their suitcases, or at least they tried. I chuckled and shook my head at their efforts.

I stopped at the desk. There was a lady behind it, she had red hair which seemed to have been dyed, blue eyes and a fake smile. When she saw me with a sleeping child in my arms, Sierra beside me plus the three children, she looked at us with disgust. She probably thought that we were two young lesbians in a relationship with four kids. I found it very amusing how people saw something or in our case, persons and began to assume what was not correct.

Her fake smile broadened. "Hello, how can I assist you?"

I smile kindly at her despite her judging eyes, Sierra did the complete opposite. "Hi, uhm you got a call from a Mr. Grant yesterday-"

"Oh yes!" She said interrupting me. She pulled out two pairs of key. "Here it is, I even copied them when he told me that there would be two adults. Its room three-firty four, it's on the tenth floor."

I nodded. "Thank you."

She nodded. "If you need anything, just press the number two on the telephone and you'll get right to us. You'll pay a maximum of fifteen hundred dollars monthly."

My eyes widened. What?

"Fifteen what?" Sierra asked.

"Fifteen hundred," The lady repeated. "This is one of the best apartment complexes in New York."

"Can't you bring it down a little?" Sierra asked with pout.

The lady shook her head. "I'm afraid not."
