I know that we are not on good terms but I want to take you and the kids out.

I have been staring at the text for a good three minutes, the excelaration of my heartbeat haven't gone down as yet. Why was he trying so hard? Is it possible that he still loves me? And how the hell did he get my number? I was stuck between pretending as if I didn't get the massage or reply to him and demand that he tell me how he got my number. I let out a sigh and put my phone into my bag and placed it in my locker, I decided to reply to his text after work.

Grabbing my apron, I put it on and tied it behind my back, I took up the small notepad and pen next. Taking in a deep breath and letting it out, I walked out of the storage room to begin working. Today I would be the waiter seeing as the person who was supposed to be the waiter had a baby. I didn't have a problem with being the waiter, I loved everything that had to do with restaurants, cafés, every eating place, from chef to cashier, from cashier to waiter. I had a dream to open my own restaurant but seeing as I don't have the money, I settled for working in cafés and restaurants.

There was a good amount of costumers in the café at the moment, most were business men and women on their breaks. They were on their phones and tablets. I shook my head, even when they were not working they were working. I headed over to a lady who was sitting by the window by herself and taping away on her cell phone. Her brown hair hid her face. There was something about her hair that seemed familiar She was dressed in a sleeveless hoodie and jeans with a pair of black ankle combat boots on her feet. Since she didn't have anything before her on the table, I headed over to her.

"Hello are you ready to order?" I asked her softly. I lifted the notepad and pen closer to my face, ready to write.

I heard a gasp and I looked down at her quickly to see what the problem was but I was taken back by her eyes. Her brown eyes reminded me of my mother's. I searched her face and my eyes widened as I recognized her.

"Gemma?" She said as if she was afraid that if she said my name a little too loud I would disappear.

I quickly cover the shock on my face. Putting a smile on my face, I pointed to the badge on the right side of my chest, just above my breast. "That's what it says on my badge," I told her with a nod. "What can I get ya?"

She narrowed her eyes at me. "I know it's you Gemma. Stop trying to make me look like an idiot."

I snorted. "But you are an idiot Jackie."

Her eyes lit up and a big smile appeared on her lips. She jumped up before I could blink and hugged me. I tensed a little. "You can't hug random strangers like that," I joked as I slowly wrapped my arms around her.

I felt cold droplets of water falling in my neck and rolling down. A sad smile made its way on my face.

"You're not a stranger Gem." She stepped back, letting her go, she let me go too. She wiped away her tears. "I hope my make up isn't ruined."
