HUNTER'S P.O.V.

SIX MONTHS LATER

"I'm sorry Mr. and Mrs. Hunter but you can't have any more children," Doctor Carlos told us.

Doctor Carlos had become our family doctor after the incident with Gemma. I even recommended him to Carter.

I turned to Gemma. She was staring at Doctor Carlos in shock. I took her hand and held it in mine. Tears welled up in her eyes. "W-what?" She choked out.

I squeezed her hand gently.

Doctor Carlos smiled sadly at her. "I'm sorry Gemma. When you got pregnant at sixteen you're reproductive system wasn't exactly fully developed."

And that was where I felt guilty.

"You having triplets at such a young age damaged your reproductive system."

Gemma started full out crying. I pulled her out of the chair she was sitting in and made her sit in my lap. It was my fault that my baby girl was crying. She ducked her head beneath my chin. Seeing her cry over something just made me want to get it for her.

"Can anything be done?" I inquired.

He shook his head.

I felt so powerless. Ensuring that Gemma was secured in my arms, I got up with her. I nodded at the doctor. "Open the door for me."

He got up quickly and opened the door. "Once again, I'm sorry."

I gave him another nod and left the office. I wasn't upset about us not having anymore children, three was enough for me. I didn't even know that Gemma wanted more kids, we didn't speak about having more kids often and we were quite busy with our work and our children. I didn't want to add more to the three we already had.

Multiple heads turned to look at us as I walked through the hallways of the hospital, Gemma's cries drawing all the attention towards us.

The chilly air hit my face when I stepped out. It was early January and snow was still falling. I opened the door with much dificulty, buckled Gemma's seat belt then closed the door. When I got into the car, Gemma tackled me immediately.

"Why aren't you as upset as I am?" She snapped. "Are you happy that we can't have anymore children?"

Anger was rolling off her in waves and I was the one who was sadly receiving her wrath. I stayed quiet for a few minutes, only focusing on driving.

"So I stand correct then-"

"No you don't," I interrupted immediately. "I could care less if you could get pregnant or not. I love you and anything that you are willing to give me, I would take it wholeheartedly. I love our kids, they're beautiful, amazing and special. If you could have more kids I would love them." I took her hand in mine and kissed her hand back. "Everything happens for a reason, don't stress about this. If its meant to happen then it will happen."

A sob left Gemma's lips. "I love you so much."

"I love you too baby, now can you stop crying?"

I glanced at her. "Okay, I'll try."

"Besides, we're both busy and we hardly have time for the kids and ourselves, do you really want to add more kids to the batch?"

"It's just that, you said you wanted a football team-"

"We don't need ten or eleven kids to make a football team." A small laugh left her lips. "How about some ice cream to help you feel better? There's an ice cream place coming up."
