Despite all the lemons life threw at her, Sooyoung managed to pull through. After her father's accident, she has learned how to be tough and independent. Her life motto is that no matter how many lemons life throws at her, she won't be defeated.--
It was a Monday and she has to go to work. She is now working at Seoul University's cafeteria selling bento boxes. She missed studying music, but because of financial reasons after her father's death, she had to quit studies and work to support herself and her stepmother.
Before going to work, she was designated with a task of collecting an expensive fish from the market as they needed to use it for the bentos later in the day. After collecting it, she got on the bus to head back. She rested her head on the buses' window, trying to get some peaceful rest. She never gets enough peace at "home" as her stepmother keeps shouting at her for whatever she does. She has also been feeling uncomfortable with the guy that took them in years ago — now her stepmother's boyfriend. She actually experienced him trying to peak at her once while she was in the shower, and he would always surreptitiously stare at her from top to bottom. Because of that she actually likes going to work and running errands, anything that gives her the chance to be away from that mess of a house.
On the way back, this gaudy, bright-red Porsche suddenly parked itself in front of the moving bus. The bus eventually came to a screeching stop which made her bag of live fish skyrocket to the front. The bag leaked and the fish was practically half dead.
Eager to return to save her fish, she came down from the bus and urged to Porsche driver to move out of the way, pointing out all the traffic he had caused. The Porsche owner, who is the one and only Yook Sung Jae, was unbothered and insensitive.
"Why should I? Can't you see I'm in the middle of breaking up with my NOW EX-girlfriend here?" signalling to the lady on his right.
"You are delaying everyone's time and causing a big traffic congestion because of your heartless callous act you asshole! Now hurry up I need to save this expensive creature's life!" she voiced, holding up her bag of dead fish.
"Okay then, why not you move the car since you're so concerned?" he retorted.
Eager to settle the problem, Sooyoung then agreed to move his car but she doesn't know how to operate it. She asked him to guide her.
Yook Sung Jae, being the playful and cold guy that he is, tricked her and gave her the wrong instructions, causing her to back out and hit the bus behind it.
The police came and ushered everyone to go to the police station. Sooyoung was held up, her fish was completely dead and Sung Jae was punished to do community work for a whole day.
As Sooyoung was leaving the police station in anger, she dropped her book, which has her name written on it. It was eventually picked up by Sung Jae.
"Can my life get any worse?! I can't believe I had to deal with such an inhumane and cold-blooded person!" she thought to herself, stomping out of the police station.
