Spring: You Who Came To Me

Soo Young stormed back into their room and asked sarcastically and angrily if she appeared too early and interrupted him and Rose. 

Sung Jae asked her, "those words you said just now.. is it from the bottom of your heart?"

"I'm real, but do you care if I'm real? You don't care. You only treat it as a joke." Soo Young said.

"Do you really think it's like that?" Sung Jae asked.

"You don't have to remind me. I know my status well. I'm nothing but Sami's mother to you. I know that you don't love me at all. The only reason why we're together is because you want revenge on me. Fine, revenge till you're satisfied. The day we left the hospital after seeing the victim and walked shoulder to shoulder, I believed maybe we could return to last time, and I told myself that maybe I could contribute a little more to this marriage.. but if you only want me to play the role of Sami's mother well.. there's no need for you to bring me to these kind of trips anymore. You can just leave me next to Sami, and I will feel more natural this way." Soo Young exploded.

"Why did you not tell me all these before?" Sung Jae asked feeling tad bit guilty.

"Do you care? Do You know how scared, how careful everyday I have to be with you? Everytime I take a step towards you, I'm afraid that I would step over your line, and your boundary changed every single day. This kind of life feels like i'm on pins and needles. Do you know that feeling?" Soo Young continued. By then, she was already tearing a bit. She sniffed and brushed what she said away and she turned her back to him. 

Sung Jae was also tearing as well, as he walked behind her and said,

"What if I say I feel the same too? Because I am afraid. That's why I push you away. Because I have no courage to find the true answers, so I escape. Because our past has been full of lies. Facing you, I don't know what's real and what's not. I'm happy that you threw this tantrum at me to tell me your true feelings. But you have to trust me that there's nothing going on between me and Rose."

"You don't have to explain to me." Soo Young cut in.

"I have to. Because you're Mrs Yook. Just like how you misunderstand me and Rose, maybe I did the same stupid thing. Maybe I should trust that what you do in front of me is real... Maybe we can really.... maybe I should trust you more. Isn't it supposed to be like that between a husband and a wife? We need to be honest if we want to be together forever. Maybe there's something in your heart that you don't dare to tell me, but if you dare say, I will believe." Sung Jae told her honestly.

Soo Young fiddled with her ring, feeling bit guilty. She then told him that she had never wanted to hide anything from him. "I'm sorry. You might never know why I left six years ago, but you must believe that I did it for a reason."

"What makes you think that I won't believe what you said? You were so brave just now, You should be brave for yourself too. I want to know why you left six years ago."

The situation calmed down and they started warming up to each other. Sung Jae told her that he booked a bar that night and if Soo Young is willing, "I want to find the us six years ago, to live.. for each other."

Soo Young eventually smiled and accepted the invitation.

Back at home, Sung Jae's mother took Sami out to the park to have a picnic then to the beach for her natural environment homework. They had so much fun.
