Now, what happened to Sung Jae - y'all are probably thinking.

Just like any typical romance story, his surgery was a success of course. He even became a successful lawyer in the past 6 years and won heaps of cases.

Only thing is...

He lost all his memories. Which meant that he lost every memory he made with Soo Young and what happened between them. Once he opened his eyes after the surgery, all he saw was So Hyun. He was only able to recall how So Hyun was by his side since his recovery. 

Due to the surgery, he lost every basic knowledge he once had. He didn't even know how to tie his shoelaces. So Hyun was the one who taught him again. Soon, he eventually fell in love with her.

Back to the present, Sung Jae told So Hyun how much he loved her and appreciated her for looking after him all these while. He has proposed to her multiple times but So Hyun rejected them many times. She always felt guilty for lying to him and their parents' tricks for getting them together. Sung Jae knew nothing about it and she doesn't wanna tell him the truth either. 

However, this time round, she agreed to it. 

So Hyun's father and Sung Jae's mother were overjoyed by the news. Sung Jae always had this family lawyer with him since young, who always got Sung Jae out of trouble. He asked Sung Jae's mother if this was what she wanted for Sung Jae, to forget Soo Young completely and become a lawyer who only worked for money and not justice. As long as the client had money, Sung Jae would do anything to win the case, despite the client being the criminal. Sung Jae's mother said that this was the best outcome. For him, and for the family.

Sung Jae took up a case where the client sexually abused and harrased both the mother and daughter who worked as maids as his house. The guy was clearly wrong. But because he had money, Sung Jae helped him win the case. However, during the case, he started to have faint flashbacks/memories because what the defendant and accused said greatly resembled Soo Young and her stepfather's case years back.

Sung Jae felt the heat inside him build up, without knowing why and threw a fist at the guy's face. He didn't know why or what made him do this especially when he was always able to keep his cool.

Meanwhile, So Hyun's father wanted to buy the piece of land in Jeju-Do, coincidentally it was at the village Soo young and Sami were residing in. He was so agitated because the villagers at Jeju-do were hindering his process of buying the land. They refused to move away since it was home to them. They asked Soo Young (the most educated one out of all) to write in to request for a lawyer.

Because Sung Jae was a lawyer and he punched someone in the court, he has to be punished. He had to commit 264 hours of community service at the village. Knowing about his community work, So Hyun's father told him that the conflict at the village was between him and the villagers and told Sung Jae not to fight for them, in which he agreed to.

While alone with So Hyun, he told her with an annoyed expression that he couldn't believe that he had to waste 11 days of his life doing community work simply because he punched a clearly perverted guy. He then told So Hyun, "I will come back to you as soon as possible.. and then you're gonna be the most beautiful bride."

The next day, Soo Young had to go see Eunwoo's father to talk about his son's attitude towards Sami. Sami always came home crying because of Eunwoo. Even though Soo Young was reluctant to meet him, she had to do it for the sake of her child. She was on the public bus on the way to see him, when this flashy red sports car broke down in front of the bus. All the passengers on board had to get off the bus and walk to their destinations. When she came down, she saw the scene and slightly smiled at the familiarity, as a similar thing happened six years ago.  

She took a look at the car, but the man, whom was indeed Yook Sung Jae, was hidden behind the hood trying to fix his car problems. Thus, they missed their chance to see each other at that moment in time.

Soo Young didn't know that Sung Jae had lost all of his memories after the surgery. She just thought that he hated her so much for leaving and thus she understood that he didn't bother to find her.

She eventually reached her destination and met with Eunwoo's father. She started talking about Eunwoo and Sami but instead, he changed the topic and discussed uncomfortable things with her. He tried to hold her hand but Soo Young pulled away in a heartbeat. "You don't have to act all innocent and shy... when you already have Sami", he implied. Soo Young immediately stood up and excused herself to the bathroom. She told herself to keep calm. She need to talk to him for Sami. Outside, Eunwoo's father took the advantage to put sleeping pills into her drink. Sung Jae who passed by saw the scene and walked up to him and told him that he will be the witness for the lady and sue him. Eun Woo's father didn't know who he was at first so he got all riled up, then he looked over to the newspaper where Sung Jae was featured for winning a big case and got scared. Eun Woo's dad then gulped down the spiked drink in a haste, hoping to destroy the evidence. 

Sung Jae left before Soo Young came back, and she was surprised to hear Eun Woo's father's apology for acting that way before he collapsed on the table. Soo Young was worried but the store owner told her not to worry, and that a handsome lawyer helped her settle it.

Sung Jae went back to wait for the head of the village. Sami, being loved by everyone in the village went with the village head to welcome Sung Jae. However, a pregnant woman water broke and the village head had to drive her to the hospital. He then asked Sami to walk down the street and find the lawyer (Sung Jae).

Sami went to the scene and saw just exactly what his mother always storied her -- a red space car that stopped in front of a public bus. Excited, Sami ran up to Sung Jae, hugged his leg and shouted loudly. "APPAAAA!!!!!!"

Startled, Sung Jae told Sami that he wasn't even married so she shouldn't simply say things. The head of the village soon joined them and he apologised to Sung Jae on behalf of Sami. Sung Jae was initially annoyed that Sami kept calling him daddy, which might cause misunderstandings, but after hearing from the head of the village that Sami was fatherless since birth, Sung Jae felt sympathy for her because he also had no father since young. He started being nicer to Sami, and even taught her how to tie her shoelaces.

The villagers were excited as they heard that the lawyer has arrived and he was very handsome. They threw a welcome party for Sung Jae, not knowing that he wouldn't help them with the case. He got very drunk at the party and after that the head of the village brought him back to Soo Young's place, since she had an extra room there. Min Jae, who was out buying some stuff overheard the lawyer's name from the villagers. He panicked and immediately rushed to Soo Young's place.

"OMMA OMMA!!! PA BA (look)!!! I found daddy! he came from another planet to find me!!!!" screamed the adamant Sami from outside the house.

"Sami-ah, I already told you he's a lawyer from Seoul and he isn't your da----"

It was indeed Sami's dad.
