Mark sat down beside Sean on the giant dresser-top bed, sighing. "Sorry I got you into this." He mumbled, keeping his voice low, which was an easy task, being so small.
Sean frowned. "Got me into this? You offered it Mark, that was all. I made the final decision myself." He sighed. "And it's not like you made them real either. Neither of us ever asked for that."
"I'm almost getting used to them being real now." Mark groaned. "I didn't want to ever get used to that."
Sean laughed, covering his mouth with his hands to try and quiet himself. "It's good though." He nodded. "They're probably going to be real for a long time."
"What if we're this size for a long time?" Mark mumbled.
Taking a deep breath, Sean nodded a little. "Uh... we'll have to have tiny keyboards made?" Mark scrunched up his face, trying not to laugh. Sean smirked, patting him on the back. "Tiny keyboards for tiny little computers, and tiny little standing desks."
Mark folded forward over his lap, laughing. "I can see it now! I can have my new desk, on top of the old one!"
"Put a green sheet up in the background... Robin can edit in a picture of my office background. No one knows a thing!" Sean grinned.
"Go to panels. Have a tiny microphone, and yourself displayed on a screen. Don't mention that you're super tiny. No one will even notice!" Mark grinned.
Sean took a deep breath, wondering if the joke was too far and almost instantly decided it wasn't. "Well I mean, this isn't that big a change for you, so your fans really wouldn't notice."
"Oh, fuck you!" Mark laughed, pushing him over. Sean fell onto his side on the blanket, chuckling. He shifted, moving to sit up again and Mark pushed him back down. As his laughter subsided, Mark sighed, looking down at him. "Seriously though..." He shifted, finally letting Sean sit up again. "What if there's no way to reverse it?"
Sean shifted, adjusting the position he was sitting in and thought for a moment, then shrugged. "Then... we make the best of it. Pizzas are huge now.."
Mark scrunched up his face, then gasped. "Pizzas would be huge now..."
Sean nodded. "Yup, they sure are." He sighed. "We've got really supportive people around us. I mean, it wouldn't be ideal, but we could make it work. I think Signe and I could make it work."
Mark glanced at him. "Really?"
"You don't think you could make it work with Amy?" Sean bit his lip.
"I don't know if I'd want to." Mark sighed. "Life with me is weird enough. Life with me five inches tall is... barely life." Sean opened his mouth and Mark pointed at him. "If you make another short joke, I swear to god..."
Sean laughed, shaking his head. "Okay, okay. I'm done." He nodded. "Have you talked to her about it? I mean... maybe she'd rather have barely life with you than less weird life without?"
Mark leaned his head back. "Maybe. I'm not sure that's a question I need answered." He closed his eyes. "I'll bring it up when we run out of options."
"Yeah." Sean smiled. "Cause, it is fixable. It has to be."
"If Amy and I did break up-"
"Is this the path you really want to go down right now?" Sean frowned.
Mark nodded. "Hear me out." He cleared his throat. "If Amy and I did break up, because I'm permanently five inches tall... do you think I could sneak onto one of Elon Musk's rockets to Mars?"
Sean shifted, then gasped. "And go to space?!"
"Yeah!" Mark jumped up.
Looking up at him, Sean chuckled. "What are you doing? Sit down!"
