It has been two and a half months since Ember and Emma had left the Ark. 73 days of relaxation. 38 days since Ember had seen Bellamy. 28 days since she had kissed Holden. 8 days since she had seen Lexa.

Ember wished she could say it was longer. Lexa had come to her with three names, this time all three were people that had sided with the Arkers instead of the Commander during our war. People who had stayed behind to honor a deal that their Commander made and then skipped out on. Ember didn't like killing them, but she did so easily.

Ember had faced the truth long ago. When it came to protecting those she loved, she'd do anything. Holden and Emma were her top priority, but everyone in the village she wanted protected as well.

Since making her deal with Lexa, Ember had killed four people under Lexa's order, and several more not under her command. Making the deal had sent every rogue Grounder her direction, like a flashing sign was in the sky visible to all of them that Lexa's new ally and her assassin was there.

Jaden and Janice didn't know why Grounders kept coming to their village to fight, but they did everything they could to protect the twins anyways. While they appreciated it, neither liked putting the village in danger. Which is why they had mutually decided, it was time to head back to the Ark.

They both agreed that the Ark could defend themselves better than this village could. Their only problem was: they didn't know how to break the news to the Village. Ember had told Holden when they had decided, and after a lot of protesting from her, it was decided that he would go them. She just hoped the guard didn't hurt him, or they'd have hell to pay from her. They planned on leaving early that day for the Ark, only they hadn't gained the courage to tell anyone.

When they exited their tent, Holden was next to the two instantly. "When do we leave?"

Ember and Emma exchanged looks, before Ember looked back at him. "As soon as we tell Janice and Jaden. Are you sure they'll let you leave?"

He smiled comfortingly, putting an arm around her waist. "Don't worry, my love, they'd never keep someone here against their will." Ember cracked a grin, stomach twisting into knots. She worried about bringing him to the Ark, about being around Bellamy while trying to be happy with someone what wasn't him, but she saved her worries for when she was at the Ark.

The three walk over to the main part of the village, each with their packs full of stuff. Janice ran out of her tent, looking at the three in surprise. "Are you going somewhere?" She asked them, raising an eyebrow and examining the packs on their backs.

Ember took a small step forward. "We'd like to thank you for offering my sister and I refuge in your village, but we think it's best to leave. With more trikru coming after me, I think it's better for you if we leave."

Janice slowly nodded after a moment, turning to Holden. "You're going with them?" Holden nodded his reply, and Janice returned it. "Okay. All of you stay safe, and if you ever need something don't hesitate to come and ask us."

Ember smiled in parting, taking a step back to the two behind. "We won't." Ember assured her, turning to Holden and Emma. "Ready?"

"Are you?" Emma retorted, no surprised when her sister shook her head no. "Don't worry about anything, sis. Just think about how happy Octavia will be that you're back."

"And how upset everyone else will be." Ember replied, talking fast in hopes that Holden wouldn't be able to understand. "They know that I'm the one that killed Jonah."

Emma grabbed her sister's hand, squeezing it supportingly. "We'll explain why to Abby. She knows you, she won't lock you up."

"Let's hope."
