(Alternate Title: Call Me Icarus)
Note: The formatting on this poem won't work right, ugh.
Each stanza is only four lines, despite the two in the middle that want to believe otherwise.

Call me Icarus, because you're already the sun...
I flew too close, though you warned me you might run;
Last night my heart got a few third-degree burns,
And yet today, for you, it still yearns.

I am so sorry that I made you feel the way that you do,
But if truth be told, my priority was and is always you.
And I know that you don't feel like it's true right now,
But I hope that I can prove you're still my ride or die, somehow.

So call me Icarus, my love, because I melt when I am with you...
But I could never regret it, I hope you know that that's true.
You have given me so much, yet all I can give you is myself...
I know you deserve better, but please keep me for yourself.

I barely slept last night, I felt your absence everywhere;
I know I don't deserve you, and I know this isn't fair...
But please don't make me try to live without you,
Because you're inked into my soul now, just like a tattoo.

I wish that you would let me be the half that makes you whole,
That you would let me give you my heart, mind, body, and soul;
If you can find the space in your heart - if you can just forgive -
I promise that I could love you, with every heartbeat,  for as long as I live.

You will always be my ride or die, I just want you to know...
And even if you walk away, my heart will never let you go.
I don't want us to be strangers, but mi amor, if that is what you need...
I will give you anything, even if it is like slicing open a vein and leaving myself to bleed.

I never meant to hurt you, I hope that you know that's true...
The best part of my life these past months has always been you.
Please don't let last night kill what might be our tomorrow,
Yours is the only heart I want to beg, steal, or borrow.

I know you don't believe it when I say that it isn't a lie,
But you are the light of my life - you are my ride or die.
And I know that you don't feel like it right now, mon amour,
But you always come first for me - je t'aimerai, toujours.
