Will You

Will you think of me when you're standing in the sunlight?
Will I cross your mind in the middle of the night?
Will you hear my name and suddenly be transported back in time?
And will you wonder where I am when you hear your phone chime?

Will you miss my voice, the way it echoed in your ear?
Will you miss anything about me, at all, my dear?
Will you ever be reminded of me by something that you see?
And will your heart ache in your chest when and if you think of me?

Will I ever cross your mind?
Was I ever your one of a kind?
Will you miss me the way I will you?
And will you feel nearly as lonely as I do?

Will you ever catch yourself wondering what I would think?
And will you ever think about me so much that it drives you to drink?
And will you ever wonder where I've been since I went away?
Will you ever find yourself wishing that you had asked me to stay?

Will you ever regret pushing me away and letting me go?
Will you ever be haunted by something you wish you'd let me know?
And will you ever wonder what might have been
If you had only been willing to let me in?

Will you ever wake up after dreaming of me in your sleep?
And will you ever wish it were me when you hear your phone beep?
Will you ever want to reach out to me and tell me about your day?
And if you do, will you realize you no longer know what to say?

Will you ever wish that I were there or you were here?
Will you miss anything about me, at all, my dear?
Will you ever wish that you hadn't decided to set me free?
And will your heart ache in your chest if you ever think of me?

And will you ever realize that you are a lock and I was the key?
Because maybe then you'll know what it's like to be me.
