Misery

My mind is slowly unweaving,
I'm having trouble believing...
These walls are closing in,
My patience is wearing thin.

Misery is an old friend,
My broken heart is once again on the mend;
This has been difficult from the start,
So damn you for stealing my heart.

Staying away from you,
Is the hardest thing I've ever had to do...
But I can't just wait around for you,
To break my god damned heart into two.

Oh, what a blunder,
My heart is being torn asunder;
I'm going to bury these misguided dreams,
Because nothing is ever as it seems.

Your half smile and haunted eyes,
Will be the cause of my demise;
They're tearing my heart apart at it's seams,
It's so hard to let go of my shattered dreams.

So tonight I'm going to sit in the dark,
Because my heart is inadvertantly your mark;
I can't stand to watch you walk away,
But we both know you'll never stay.

Misery is an old friend,
My broken heart is once again on the mend;
This has been difficult from the start,
So damn you for stealing my heart.
