You have that kraken tattoo and the prettiest eyes,
And all these years later, I still wear friendship like a disguise.
Then there's that purple shirt against your caramel skin,
And all of a sudden, you're the way I wanna sin.
But it was your beautiful laugh and that baritone voice...
They made me tumble into love, I didn't have a choice.
And now I fall asleep against a pillow that I wish were you
Nearly as much as I wish you felt this way about me, too.
I do this every time, we always ebb and flow like the tide
But all it takes is one smile, and I get caught up in your landslide.
Because we've always been friends, but I still wish that we were lovers
My feelings are tangled up the way I wish we were under the covers.
You have that kraken tattoo and the prettiest eyes,
And all these years later, I still wear friendship like a disguise.
You're smarter than you have a right to be, more brilliant than you know
And maybe that's why I love you so, but god - I hope it doesn't show. The sound of your voice will always bring me to my knees -
It stops me in my tracks, always makes me freeze;
But no one else ever makes me laugh the way that you do
You've always been able to cheer me up just by being you.Because you have that kraken tattoo and the prettiest eyes,
And all these years later I still wear friendship like a disguise...
But I fall asleep against a pillow that I wish were you
Nearly as much as I wish you felt the same way about me, too.
