Your sweet, sweet face is a mere memory
Since the day the office shredder came between you and me
Your head went in, only part of it came out
The resulting mess was quite grotesque, of that there is no doubt.
I stayed in the hospital sitting by your side
You awoke and asked me how it looked and naturally I lied
'The surgeons have worked wonders' I said with a frown
Your eyes were inside out, and your nose upside down.
I handed you a mirror and stood well back
Your reflection almost gave you a heart attack
'Beauty's only skin-deep' I reassuringly said
Though the phrase was an understatement for a girl with half a head.
Once your confidence returned we went out for a meal
You cleared the restaurant with a single smile; it was quite an ordeal
When the waiter came to serve you it caused incredible strife
He made the sign of Satan in the air and fled for his life.
But I don't care what other people say or what they do
No matter what you look like, I will always love you
If I ever lost you it would be as if a part of me had gone
I would kiss you on the lips if they had sewn them back on.
