Chapter 23 {Komu}

     We somehow manage to quickly leave after being almost slaughtered by the Harusame. I think they would chase after us but soon find out that they instead let us go.

Damn it. I never thought that the Harusame's division would be here, and not to mention assisting the Kiheitai. And by its captain, Kamui, I later know that we don't stand a chance.

And that girl.

After all the persistent in telling me to retreat, she had a plan of her own all along. She thinks she can escape by falling, and thus thrust the sword to the Kiheitai captain, knowing that the weapon itself was sole tracking device we have.

But I believe that's not the whole thing. I remember the look in her eyes after she encountered with the Kiheitai leader and came to me to retreat. I spot only weakness behind those eyes. While trying to speak logic with me, I understood that it was also because she couldn't complete the mission.

She couldn't kill that man.

A very commendable passion she holds for him. Truly so.

Even though she knows that everything around her will collapse should her resolve ever dare to shatter.
