"Shinsuke-sama, I have treated the girl like you asked," Matako thoughtfully says, holding something between her hands. "But..."

     "But what?"

She chews her lips before stumbling, "I-It's just that her wounds..." Her hesitation shortens my patience. After a moment, she decides to say. "Her wounds just...disappeared."

"Disappeared?" Confusion clouds over my voice.

She nods. "Yes. But I was so sure that I hit her that time."

"You did." The memory of Y/N haunted eyes flashes in my head. "Are you sure there are no damages on her?"

Matako meets my gaze and confirms. "Yes, I'm sure of it. It's like she hadn't fought at all."

I don't understand. I saw her fell after Matako shot her. And she survived the fall after. It's all too impossible.

"And there's one more thing." I keep my attention on her as she continues. "I found this in her old attire's sleeve." She hands me what she has in her hands.

It's a letter. When realizing that I might learn something about her through it, I hastily remove the envelop that says; 'To Shizuka Senya'

My head swirls with questions as I scan through the letter. Reading it further only ignites deeper confusion rather than understanding.

Who is Shizuka Senya?

I move on to the next paper beneath. My breath stops after I browse through the short poetry it contains. It takes all of me from bolting to her room and grasp her body to mine. And I fight to keep a neutral expression as I stare down at her beautiful strokes of characters.

"Shinsuke-sama..." Matako staggers. "Is something wrong? What are said in the letters?"

I cast a glance at her worried face and dismiss. "Nothing of great importance. You can go back now."

She still looks unconvinced but doesn't question further. When she gets up and turns to leave, someone approaches the door from the outside.

     "Shinsuke," Bansai calls.

I tuck the papers away as he opens the door. "What is it?"

He smiles slightly before saying, "Y/N is awake."
