"Mom no, I don't wanna share our home with people I barely even know!" I shouted at my mother in anger and fustration.

"Cassie I'm not going to argue with you! They're coming and its final!" My mother slammed her hand down on the kitchen counter in a rage as she eyed me viciously.

I stormed upstairs into my room and slammed the door and sighed as I sat at my desk.

Mom had an old friend moving in because she said that it was something wrong with their house and she had a child my age and I just tuned out afterwards. I didnt wanna share our home with complete strangers, well at least strangers to me. They are supoosed to show up sometime next week because that's when summer starts.

I didn't wanna stress about the situation anymore so I peeled off my clothes and started up a shower, washing all the stress away....

Bright and early Friday morning I awoke and prepared for my last day at "Pinson High" located in Oakland, California. Last year of 11th grade...so I was basically a soon to be senior.

I don't know what I want to do with my life after I graduated but I did know that I wanted to be successful in life. I know that I should start planning early but I haven't been having the time due to all this stress that I have been going through lately.

I thought about my mother's friend coming to stay and how I would have to share my room if she had a daughter and immediately got annoyed. I was the only child and had never had to share a thing a day in my life so why start now.

I rolled my eyes and got dressed in a turquoise hoodie, denim jeans, and turquoise converse. I quickly placed my hair in a ponytail and headed downstairs. My mother was still asleep and probably tired from work so I just decided that I would speak with her when I got home.

I jumped in my little old 2014 Chevrolet Impala. It wasn't much but it was still something to get around in, my mom had bought it for me on my 16th birthday and I have cherished it ever since then.

When I arrived at school I saw my best friend Austin standing right outside the school waiting for me, which was new to me.

"Hello there my fellow human." I greeted him.

"Stop acting like you're some type of alien." He laughed as he pulled me under his arm and began walking me into the school.

Everyone thought that Austin and I were dating, which was kinda weird since we knew each other since we were like babies.

"So last day at this shitty school, how do you feel?" Austin said.

"It feels great, Mr. Soon to be senior."

"Same to you Mrs." He replied.

I nudged him in the side, "Stop goofing around."

"What?" He laughed. "What's got you down?"

"My mom." I sighed, "we had an argument."

I slowly got away from Austin as I placed my back against the lockers.

"About?" He urged me to continue.

"Well she has these people coming to stay with us, and I'm not so sure about it because its always been just me and her." I explained, " I mean sure we have a nice house and its enough room but I'm just not used to that type of thing."

"Ah..." Austin replied.

"I know I sound selfish but-"

"Cass I understand, you just aren't used to that type of thing, I'm not gonna judge you for that." Austin smiled.

"Thanks you weirdo." I replied as I playfully punched him in the arm.

"Well lets get this day over with." He yawned as we began to walk again.

The last day of school went by fast. I couldn't believe that I was finally saying goodbye to my new and old friends.

I had grew up in California and by age 14 I had moved to North Carolina, but I moved back her in the middle of my 11th grade year and my mother decided that this time we were staying for good. But I didn't know that she moved back just to let some strangers move in.

As I pulled up to the house I noticed a blue jeep parked outside and mom waving bye to the driver.

"Cassie." She smiled as she noticed me getting out the car. "Come here quickly."

I quickened my pace thinking that my mom had a surprise for me, but behind that door standing in the living room were the strangers that I didn't want to be here with suitcases.

My jaw nearly dropped but I tried to keep a calm expression, "Their here early I see."

"Yes it was all so sudden, but Cassie please say hello to Candy and her son Diego." My mother cheerfully replied.

"Hey." I slowly said as I eyed the boy with pale skin and short floppy curly hair, then rushed off to my room.

I plopped on my bed and allowed my face to be planted in my pillow. I know that I came off as rude but it seemed like something hit me. When I saw him I felt a rush come through me. I felt lucky that I don't have to share my room, but now we had a boy my age in the house...and he was gorgeous.....

*Knock Knock*

I turned my attention to Diego who was standing in my doorway.

"Hey you're mom said show me to the guest room." He shyly spoke, his voice was groggy.

I could easily tell he had a lisp, but the way he spoke was so cute. I snapped myself back to reality and hopped up, "Uh yeah c'mon."

I lead him down the hallway to the extra bedroom and opened the door.

"Here it is." I said as he walked in and sat his suitcase down.

"Thanks." He replied.

"Yeah." I replied as I began to walk off.

"Hey Cassie."

I stopped in my tracks feeling chills as I heard him call my name, "Yeah?"

"Where is the bathroom?" He questioned.

"Right across the hall." I replied and rushed off before he could ask anything else. I went straight into my room and closed the door. I felt so awkward...what was wrong with me.....

I facepalmed knowing that I had just embarrassed myself in front of him. I had never reacted to something like that before. I had always been a people person. I pushed the thought aside as I pulled my hair out of the ponytail and I laid back on my bed and fell into a deep sleep.

"Cassie." My mother shook me as she whispered my name, "wake up its time for dinner and I want you to be in there while we eat."

"Why, I always eat in my room." I groaned as I rolled over.

"You know we have guests, be downstairs in 5 minutes or else." My mother scolded and began to head back downstairs.

I rose up in my bed knowing that my mother meant what she said. I got up and slid on some shorts and a hot pink crop top, skipping the shower for tonight.

When I came downstairs all eyes were on me, and Diego's seemed mesmerized. I took a seat at the table next to my mom directly across from Diego.

"So Cassie, I've never seen you dress like that to come to the dinner table." My mother teased.

"Mom what are you talking about." I replied as my cheeks began to turn red.

"Nothing, nothing." She sighed and began to make conversation with Candy. And everytime my eyes left my plate they tended to meet his beautiful green ones. It made me nervous so I would immediately stop staring but he continued as if it didn't bother him.....
