"Yup I'm grounded." I said to Austin with a big sigh.

After that huge mess that my mom and Candy had came home to they were happy that Diego and I had finally started getting along, but hated that it was resolved in a fight.

"I can't wait until you're not grounded, so I can finally spend some more time with you." Austin groaned, "That whole mall incident kinda blew up in our faces."

"Yeah, I never wanna run into his girlfriend again." I rolled my eyes, "But Diego, I think he could stick around for a while."

*Knock Knock Knock*

"Austin I gotta go." I quickly said and hung up the phone.

"Come in!" I yelled giving the okay.

"Being grounded means no phone, I thought we agreed on that." My mother said as she placed her hand out.

"Mom, okay I swear I won't do it-"

I could barely get my sentence out before she snatched my phone out of my hands, "You're grounded no phone, try talking to Diego and this time don't destroy my house." She gave a sarcastic smile and walked out of the room.

I gave a huge huff and laid back on my bed.

No phone....

No car....

No T.V....

Just one big house and Diego.

I finally got up and looked out the window, watching as Candy and my mom pulled out of the drive way, heading to work, today they were working the night shift. My stomach growled and I had realized that I hadn't ate breakfast or anything at all today. I raced downstairs to figure out what we had to eat, while Diego was still locked away in his room probably sleeping.

I rummaged through the cabinets eager to find something to eat, then boom finally a box of pancake mix. I grabbed the box and set it on the counter and began searching for a frying pan. I tried to do it as quietly as I could, but I clumsily slipped and made a loud clatter and accidentally hit myself in the head with the pan.

"Aughh." I groaned as I laid on my back in pain.

I heard Diego's room door creak open and he raced downstairs and suddenly the ground shook with a thud. I pushed myself to get up and go check on Diego, only to see that he was laid out on the floor at the bottom of the steps with a remote in his hand.

"So that was you're first thought of a weapon?" I giggled as I gave him a hand.

"It was in my hand when I woke up." He laughed as he winced a bit, "I think I got an instant head ache."

"Tell me about it." I groaned.

"What was that noise?" He gave a gesture towards the bruise on my forehead.

"Me trying to get a frying pan and the situation not ending well." I replied with a sly smile.

"Well we should get some frozen peas on that ma, it looks bad." Diego walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bag of peas out of the freezer and handed them to me as I took a seat at the kitchen table. I watched as he put all the pans up except for one, one that was perfect for making pancakes with.

"Now let me show you how to make some boss ass pancakes." Diego said.

"Oh is that supposed to be your way of challenging me?" I inquired as I gave him a sarcastic look.

"Maybe." He shrugged as he placed the pan on the stove.

"Bet."

I placed the peas down on the table and grabbed a pan, "We'll see about that."

After Diego and I had a fun but childish pancake battle, we finally sat in my room eating our pancakes and drinking orange juice.

"So she took your phone too?"

"Yeah I was on the phone with Austin and my mom burst through the door and took my phone." I replied as I moved over to my reading nook.

"Damn that sucks, my mom said that I wouldn't have my phone back until I'm 30, but I'm pretty sure she's just fucking around I'll have it back in a week or two." Diego sighed and he ran his fingers through his hair.

I had zoned out for a moment as the silence between us began to rise. I stared intensely at the sky, admiring the stars above.

"Do you ever just wanna run away and never look back?" The question came out of the blue and oddly hit Diego by surprise. "I love it here but it feels like everything has changed nothing ever feels right anymore."

"Sometimes I wanna get away from my anxiety and just feel normal, other days I feel like I'm going crazy. But you....what are you trying to get away from?" Diego began to walk towards me and join me on the reading nook.

"Judgement." I replied as we sat eye to eye. "At times it feels like no one understands me and I keep things bundled up in fear that someone will judge me or think I'm crazy." I began looking down playing with the cushion.

"Does he understand you?" Diego asked.

"Austin?"

He gave a nod.

"Although we've known each other for a long time its most things that I don't tell him, but to answer your question truthfully....I don't know, what about Jess?"

"She gets me and has had my back since day one but things have been kind of off lately, like she's been acting crazy." Diego began looking out the window.

"What do you mean by that?"

"She's been saying shit like she wants me to move out of your house and get a hotel or something, but I didn't want to because that would make it rough on my mom and she stopped talking to me." Diego explained, "But fuck it I mean I don't have a phone right now so I'm cooling."

I gave a light laugh, "Yeah I guess."

In that moment I felt like I could tell him anything and just tell all my secrets. I stared at him for a moment then turned my attention towards the window as well.

He edged his hand toward mine ever so slightly, until I felt his fingertips brush my hand. I glanced over at him and took his hand into my palm, embracing the bit of warmth he shared within the touch. I began to get lost in his beautiful green orbs and nearly forgot where I was.

"Cassie." He whisphered my name softly.

"Diego." I echoed back with a small smile.
