It's been three weeks since she left and this was the first time I was willing leaving the hotel room.
Pictures of her leaving the coffee shop and getting on a plane were everywhere, paparazzi's kept asking me what happened and so did the fans. I rather not to talk about it or even think about her name. It hurt, so much, after a year of giving myself to her and opening up when that's become one of the hardest things for me to do she left. She just left when the going got tough and I couldn't decide if I was more angry or just plain heartbroken.
So I went for a walk to clear my head, it was windy and the skies were filled with dark clouds much like how I felt inside. I found myself thinking about how I wished for a girl like her to come along so often. I wished that I could have someone to call mine and to make smile. Someone other than my family who would wait for me while I'm on tour and just someone other than the guys to be there for me.
I loved her, god did I love her with everything in me and I just couldn't figure out how she could leave so easily. I wished I could fall in love with someone who fell for me just as hard and I got it. But now I find myself wishing I could forget it all.
I wish I never went to that New Years party, I wish i never approached her. If she was gonna leave she should've never called the next day. I wish I didn't make so many amazing memories with her. I wish I could erase it all and maybe this ache would go away.
I wish I could just forget.
My body colliding with another snaps me out of my pity party, "Oh my bad, I didn't see you." The brunette smiles shyly.
"It's fine, I wasn't looking where I was going." I let out a dry laugh. Looking over the girl I see she's wearing a black hoodie and black skinny jeans with a skateboard in her hand. "You skate?" I ask.
"What?" She looks down to the board in her hands.
"Oh yeah, just a bit. I know a few tricks, but I'm more of using it to get from point A to point B." She laughs kinda swinging her board around.
"That's cool. Not many girls can even stand on a skateboard." I joke.
"Oh they're the worst. Especially the girls who swear they can do anything, I knew this girl back at home who tried skating in heels to impress a guy. Ending up face planting and twisting her ankle." We both laugh at her story. And i have to admit it felt good to genuinely laugh.
"Oh, I'm Ashton." I greet her with my hand sticking out. Her small hand meets mine shaking it while saying,
"Jenna." I nod hoping I don't forget it since I'm terrible with names.
"So Jenna what are you doing out in this weather?" I ask looking at the dark sky, it could really start to rain any minute.
"I was looking for a place to eat, but a lot of this town is uphill." She laugh shrugging with her skateboard still in hand.
"Well, if you want, I could show you where the good food is." I offer thinking about my favorite diner down the street.
"Oh, uh.. Ashton, that's really sweet, but I just got out of a terrible relationship and well-" I feel my cheeks begin to burn while I cut in.
"Don't worry, me too actually. Well not terrible, but she ended it after a year and left town so-" I stop myself from rambling when I see Jenna giving me a sad look. I'm not even sure why I started telling her that stuff, "We can go as friends." I conclude.
"Okay, yeah, I could really use a friend."
"Then follow me." I say waving my hand and begin leading the way. As we walk I try to spark up a conversation since the silence felt awkward. "So are you new to town?" I question.
