Loose ends tied up

"Hey, are you okay?" Calum asks Ashton when they all get back to the hotel.

"Like you care." Ashton scoffs to his friend still trying to determine if he's really mad at Calum or himself. For now he decided to stick with being mad at Calum because his jealousy is taking over.

He didn't want to let the reminder of Jenna walking away take him to a place he's been before.

"What? Ashton, of course I care." Calum follows Ashton as he walks into his room. "What happened with Jenna?"

"Why do you care?" Ashton asks harshly, Calum's face shows hurt, but part of Ashton. The angry part, didn't care because he convinced himself that Calum was the reason he had to leave Jenna.

"Because you and Jenna are my best friends?" Calum tells him more of a questioning way. He still isn't processing why Ashton is angry.

"Jenna and I broke things off." Is all Ashton blurts out.

"What? I thought you guys had a good thing going."

Ashton groans in frustration trying to sort out his thoughts while Calum stands there confused.

"She's just so frustrating! I'm trying Calum I am, but were so busy and now the tour. Then she acts weird whenever you and Jasey are together and I don't know anymore." Ashton rushes not really sure what's happening anymore. Just that he missed when things were easier between him and Jenna.

"Wait, do you think she has feelings for me? Are you kidding me ash?" Calum snaps.

"She acts the same way with Jasey that she did with Cleo." Ashton argues trying to prove his point. But that only leads to Calum letting out a loud laugh.

"You're so freaking dim! She acts that way because besides gabby we're all she has and she's a fighter! If she feels threatened she fights and you of all people should know that." Calum sneers towards ash feeling annoyed with his best friend. "I'm you're best friend and she's your best friend could've even been your girlfriend. So get your head out of your ass and see that she loves you and you probably ruined it."

Ashton stands there with his fists clenched, "where are you going!?" He calls out knowing the answer.

"To find Jenna." Calum Replies before leaving the hotel with the door slamming behind him.

The next few days were.. Quiet. Michael and Luke didn't want to get in between the drama to chose a side. Jasey was confused as to why Calum had been so consumed by Jenna lately and Ashton was still trying to figure out if breaking things off with Jenna was the right thing.

Now it was Monday and the boys and Jasey were releasing their song today then leaving for tour Friday. Jenna still wasn't happy with it, but he pretended to be for the guys sake. And at hopes of getting Ashton back.

"How comfortable are you guys with playing the song?" Dan asks the guys and Jasey.

"Pretty confident." Luke shrugs looking to Jasey who nods in agreement.

"Great, then you'll be playing an acoustic version." Dan smiles before walking out of the room.

"Great," Luke laughs. "I'll go get the guitars set up." He looks between everyone in the room then to Jenna and Ashton who were sitting across the room from each other.

"We'll come with." Calum adds before look to Michael and Jasey. Once they're gone Jenna let's out a laugh catching Ashton's attention.

"What?" He smirks a bit.

"They totally did that on purpose." Ashton looks around letting it set in then begins laughing with her.

Jenna and Ashton weren't bitter with each other, if anything they knew they would always be best friends. But of course the mutual feelings still lingered between the two.

Ashton's eyes fall to Jenna, he's always loved hearing her laugh. And the beautiful smile that took up her face always gave him a warm feeling inside.

"I miss you." He blurts out, feeling his cheeks burn when Jenna smile fade from being caught off guard.

"I miss you too.." She smiles sweetly. "Listen. I'm sorry about how I've been acting," she apologizes.

"No, I'm sorry for just jumping to conclusions. Just you know this job is demanding and.. I don't know it gets too much sometimes." Ashton explains. He stands walking over to Jenna sitting next to her looking into her eyes.

"So what does this mean for us?" Jenna questions looking to her lap, he knew she was talking about the tour.

"I love you.. But I also love having you as my best friend. Maybe right now the timing isn't right.."

Jenna knew something like that would be said, but she was still disappointed to hear it. "I guess you're right.."

"But hey." Ashton coos resting his forehead against Jenna's. "You're still mine, got it?"

Jenna giggles before nodding, "And you're still mine."

"Isn't it funny how, No matter what happens, we always find our way back to each other?"

"Well we run in the same circles of friends so it's kinda a duh statement." Jenna jokes.

"I'm trying to be cute here!" Ashton laughs.

"I know, I'm kidding." Jenna smiles.

Just as they're lips are about to meet Calum walks in, "Time to go on"

"Of course." Ashton chuckles. "Be back soon." He kisses Jenna's forehead and leaves the room.
