"What is it?" Jenna speaks up eagerly.

"Unfortunately he has some broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder and a broken leg. But the good news is on the brain scans there is no visible brain damage, as far as we can tell he should be fine. We won't know for sure until he wakes up." The doctor explains.

"But he will wake up right?" Calum asks fearing the worst for his friend.

"Yes, he will."

"C-can we see him?" Luke stutters.

"He's still asleep, but yes. I just need you to go in pairs. Two at once then three at the most." The doctor explains. The five of them look around until Jenna speaks up,

"I'll go last with whoever." With that she takes a seat as Cleo stands.

"I'll go right now, can Calum come with me?" Michael and Luke look at Calum as he shrugs and follows Cleo and the doctor.

The doctor leads the two down the hall, He opens the door and in the hospital bed is a sleeping, Ashton; bruised and bandaged up.

Cleo feels an overwhelming sadness take over her and Calum was struggling to keep the tears from falling.

"Ash.." Calum whispers stepping closer to his best friend. "Damnit Ashton." He mutters looking at his bandaged body.

Cleo walks to the other side of Ashton's bed letting her tears fall once again. "This is all my fault.." She cries. "I'm so sorry Ashton."

"Cleo this wasn't your fault." Calum reassures her. "If anything it's mine.. I knew he was going out to drink again and I let him." Calum shakes his head looking away, not being able to handle the sight of Ashton like this anymore.

His best friend who is usually so happy and hyper is now laying on a hospital bed completely destroyed. He doesn't deserve this, Calum feels like he could've done something to prevent this. Something to stop him from going out to drink again.

As Calum's thoughts race, Cleo has her own thoughts racing too. Her own guilt eating away at her. She shouldn't have came back. She shouldn't have even left to begin with, she knew Ashton was the best thing to happen to her, but something changed and she didn't feel right with him anymore.

She thought time apart would rekindle their love, but instead it ruined both of them. She regrets it. Now she just needs to explain that to Ashton and fix things.

In the waiting room Jenna stands from her seat and begins pacing. Along with Luke and Michael she was thinking of ways they could've prevented this. Not to mention the guilt she feels from slapping him. It hurt what Ashton said to her, but she knew it was all a front. Like Ashton said; she gave up, she gave up on her ex, she gave up on that old town and her old friends. That night, she gave up on Ashton and his insults.

She shouldn't have given up, she should've stayed.

Calum's voice pulls Jenna from her thoughts, "You guys can go in now."

Jenna nods looking to Luke and Mikey to see them standing and ready to follow her down the hall.

Entering the room the same sadness that Calum experienced washed over Jenna and the guys. Jenna makes the first move to walk to Ashton's bedside,

"What did you do, ash?" She questions knowing he won't be able to answer.

The steady beeps from the monitor are the sounds filling the room until Jenna can't take it anymore. In one movement she is turned around and out the room door storming off to the waiting room with a certain idea in mind.

"Jenna?" Calum speaks up from the waiting room chairs leaving a crying Cleo in the uncomfortable seats.

Jenna walks past Calum because he's not the one she came for. It was Cleo.

"Cleo." Jenna calls making the blonde look up.

Almost like an impulse she pulls her right hand back, swinging it forward until a familiar sting takes over the palm of her hand. Cleo sits with her mouth dropped open and her cheek red from the impact.

"This is your fault!" Jenna screams with tears falling down her cheeks. Her best friend was in the hospital because of this girl.

Because she did exactly what Jenna did and ran away when shit got hard and if Jenna couldn't beat herself up for it she'd use that anger to give Cleo what's been coming to her.

Calum rushes to Jenna pulling her away from the crying girl and hugs her, "Jenna stop, this isn't anyone's fault." Calum says into Jenna's ear as she buries her face in his chest.

"No i-it's her fault. But I could've stopped him! I should've stopped him!" Jenna sobs her voice breaking at the end. "I can't do this." She cries.

Not aware of what is happening in the waiting room Micael looks over Ashton once more trying to let this situation set in when he sees something, Ashton shift in his bed slightly. Then his eyes begin to flutter open, "Oh my god." Mikey gasps.

"What?" Luke asks standing by Michael's side.

"H-he's waking up!" He says in disbelief then quickly runs to the doorway, "Someone, anyone! He's waking up!"

The doctor from earlier rushes into the room while a nurse asks the two friends to leave.

"What happened?" Calum rushes when they rush into the waiting room with Jenna still crying in his chest.

"He's waking up."

Calum let's out a deep breath feeling a weight lift off his chest.

"He's waking up.." He repeats to himself feeling a small smile taking place on his lips. The four friends stand there hugging and crying tears of joy.

"Everything is gonna be okay." Luke promises.
