April 21

The words made my ears ring 'My name is Olivia Spencer and I accept your terms. I will play the game.' I had no idea what I've gotten myself into this time, but I knew I would probably die.

As I was walking out of the ballroom, I heard a faint whisper and felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to see Calliope, her eyes brimming with tears. "Olivia? Keep Ellie safe, okay? You've been doing so well of it since she, since I, left her at Lydia's and I just-"

I hugged her, and she let out a quiet sob. She pulled away and said "I didn't want to leave her, w-will you t-tell h-h-her that-t? Once she's old enough to understand?" She was completely broken, I slowly nodded, letting little emotion out as I did.

It was clear that she cared for Ellie, but I could never understand how she could leave her to grow up alone. I didn't understand how a mother could do that to her daughter.

As I walked through the doors Adrienne's mouth was agape and her eyes were wide. "I heard everything."

We just stared at each other until I finally broke the silence, "We should go back, I think I need some help understanding all of this."

She nodded solemnly and we silently walked, arm in arm, back to the room we so briefly shared.

We sat next to each other on one of the beds. I broke the silence by asking "What does all this mean? My 'gifts', what exactly are they?"

She smiled warmly at me and said "Well seeing as you have four, you're really special." She winked at me. I smiled at the small action.

"Well you, you obviously know what Immortality means," she visibly swallowed and I nodded.

"Appearance is one of the less necessary gifts, basically your appearance changes voluntarily or otherwise. That's one of less useful gifts." I nodded but sighed. "Though, good for quick identity changes."

Of course it was.

She continued while I was still mid-thought, "Telepathy is uncommon, it means you can read other people's thoughts and converse with them in their head."

I nodded again and again she continued, "And finally, Necromancy, I've only ever heard rumors about this one. It means you can control the dead."

That threw me for a loop. "I can do what to the what?"

She laughed at my response and said "Well, control is a very loose term, from what I know you can revive someone, communicate with the dead, and, freakiest of all, make them do you're bidding." She wiggled her fingers which earned a laugh from me.

We continued to laugh and chat about everything and nothing until there was a small knock on the door. I gave Adrienne a strange look and got up to answer it, except, there wasn't anyone on the other side.

I was about to close it when a solid force hit my legs, nearly knocking me over. I looked to down in search of the source, only to meet the bright green eyes of one Elyse Harper Thompson.

I squealed and she giggled, I picked her up and spun her around. I hugged her close and started crying happy tears.

"'Livia, what's wrong?" Her small voice asked.

I smiled and hugged her tighter "Nothing Ellie-Belly, everything is perfect." I whispered to her.

After sometime of me just sitting on the ground hugging Ellie, Adrienne tapped my shoulder and pointed at the still open door.

I looked up and saw Micheal standing over us. "Come with me, and bring Elyse." He ordered before he walked quickly away.

I inwardly cringed when he used her full name, only Lydia called her Elyse. But nevertheless, I stood up and followed him.
