"How's it going, Hadyy!" Astro said as he walked in the classroom with his hands in his pockets, looking fashionable as always with his loose shirt that he "forgets" to button and with ripped black jeans.
"Don't call me that" he rolls his eyes and adds, "You like it, don't lie."
I sigh. Someday he will get punched on his pretty face by someone.
"So? Are you going to answer my question? I swear, people forget manners these days" he tsks. What question? Wait— ohhh.
"I'm doing great, and you are?" I ask him back knowing he would lecture me if I don't. Bad boy vibes coming out and all, as he likes to word it."I'm also doing a wonderful job, why thank you so much for asking" He places his hand on his heart, acting like he's deeply touched. Even a drama queen is underrated than him.
"Must be nice, ya know. Getting asked for your number by a girl, huh?" He smirks at me while sitting down on his desk behind me. The hell he's going on about? But then I remember.
Abigail asked for my number. I laugh internally 'cause it sounds like she asked me out. She's outgoing I see. I gave her my number after she asked though. She looked sorry because she thinks she embarrassed me but I could give a flying fü c k on what immature people thinks.
"Must be nice, indeed. Why sound so envious, Astro? Can't relate? Too bad for your own good?" I joke with him.
That makes his smirk grow even bigger. "Oh, you have no idea." He leaves it at that.
* * *
"I AM SO SORRY, oh my god!" Abigail says. We are at the Lunar right now. I look around everyone around me to see them staring at me. It doesn't help that this looks like some kind of dramatic and cliche break up scene.
"I told you, it's okay." I laugh. Then, I change the subject before this continues, "You're coming to the park today?""Yeap. Of course."
"You know how simple it would be if we just go to each other's houses?" I say.
"No, no, no. I like the nature" she chunks her half of cup of lavender green milk tea in her mouth. She puts the cup down after, and coughs. "It's not like, I don't want to you at my house, it's just that... I don't... want... you at my... house?" She thinks about what she said and then she looks at me, "I swear I didn't mean it like that, I have a very good unspoken reason."
"I get it," and I do. I wouldn't invite people to my "house" just for any reason. I offered her because I thought it would be convenient.
"So... besides the project, I wanted to talk to you as a normal person."
"Oh yea? So, whatever we are doing right now doesn't count as normal?"
"No, I just wanted to get an advice from a guy, ya know?" She coughs and looks away. I smile at her even though she can't see me. She's going to tell me something. About a guy, that I know for sure. I've been in this situation before.
"So, you like this guy who doesn't like you like you like him right?" I say as I pop a french fry in my mouth. She gasps. I smirk at her.
"How do you- how...why...nonono..wait-WHAT?" She looks at me with wide eyes. Well, that confirms my guess.
"I can read minds" I wink. I swear, I see a small flush on her cheeks.
"Noooo you can't!" That makes me laugh even more. "Stop laughing!"
"I can't help it, okay?"
"Hey! Back to business, I'll be straight forward with you, since you already know the secret. I have been in love with this guy who likes me like a sister and will never see me the way I see him." She puts her head down on her folded arms that's on the table.
"You're... in love with him. That's... a strong phrase to use."
"But, that's just how I feel about him. Strong. I tried to forget about the feelings, but sometimes I wonder, what if I had a chance and I'm not seeing it?"
"Why do you like him so much?" I ask and she laughs as she picks up her head.
"Why? There are millions of reasons. How can I not love somebody who's always there for me? Who is always caring for me? Someone who helped me live?" She sighs as she looks down at her empty tea cup.
"Sounds like you guys had a history." I think about what she just said. I remember thinking I love someone I realized I actually do-
My train of thought breaks when I hear the front door of the restaurant open. Whoever comes in, shocks me more than I've ever been in my life.
