Zoey's POV

School went by slower than I desired for. Jonah has tried apologizing all day. I know I'm gonna forgive him, but what he said just hurt me. He doesn't know my situation, he's never been in a situation like this one. I'm gonna forgive him, he's my best friend. But it still hurt. And he has no right to act like he knows what to do in this situation.
I'm now at soccer practice with Emma. We just finished warming up. We did push ups, sit ups, crunches, etc. We also stretched and we ran 2 laps around the field. Emma and I are now sitting on the bench waiting for coach to call us out on the field. We have a game this Thursday.

"Are you sure you can do this Zoey? You haven't played since he left you..." Emma nudged me and asked me. She looked at me with concern in her eyes.

"Yes, Emma. I can do this. I'm not gonna let him ruin the one thing I love doing.." It was true. I loved soccer, so much. I have been playing it since I was 5 years old. I wasn't gonna let this ruin my chance to play. But I was getting quite annoyed. Why did everyone think I couldn't handle playing just because he left?

"That's good. Just know, we have our first game Thursday. And you don't have to do it, if you think you can't do it.." I didn't really know what to reply to that so I just shrugged my shoulders. A few more minutes of silence, Emma spoke up again.

"What exactly happened this morning? Jonah said something happened between you two." I knew this question was coming, but I didn't really want to talk about it right now.

"Nothing." I said blankly.

"Zoey, come on. You know you're gonna tell me sooner or later. You might as well tell me. If you don't tell me, I'll just ask Jonah. I mean, he is coming to practice in a little bit." I love Emma, but she can be so annoying sometimes.. And wait, what?

"Fine. He just.. Wait. What did you say?" I said looking down at my fidgeting hands.

"He's coming to practice today. He said he wanted to watch us. He also said he wanted to apologize." She said staring straight into my eyes.

"Oh." Why was he coming to practice?
Ugh, whatever. I guess I'll just forgive him.

"Now, are you gonna tell me what happened?" She asked putting her hand on my knee. It made me kind of uncomfortable, but I don't really know why. I scooted away from her.

"Sorry, I forgot you don't like that." She said with a look of guilt.

"It's fine. Anyways, he just said some things.. They were stupid, and true.. But it hurt me, alot." I said really quiet. I doubt she actually could hear me.

"What did he say?" Okay, maybe she did hear me.

"Would you please just move the hell on and grow up?" I said doing a Jonah impression. I didn't really go into detail about me having nightmares again. It was better if Emma didn't know.

"What the hell? Why would he say that?" She looked kind of pissed off. But I don't blame her. If someone said something like that to my best friend, I would react the same way.

"I-I-I don't know.." I stuttered.

"Emma! Get on the field!" The coach stopped Emma from saying whatever she was going to say. And I was silently praying to God, thanking him for doing that.

"We'll finish this conversation later." Emma whispered as she ran onto the field.

"Parker, get ready. You're up next."The coach yelled at me.
