~~~~were you guys read to hear the story Jace told Lottie? I always make up little things and i thought this would be an excellent way to start telling them! in Jaces Storys!~~~~
"...
On Jaces fifth birthday he was given his first knife, he didnt get his first runes until age nine but according to his father he wouldnt need them yet. he practiced everyday, hours and hours spent doing little more than studying and practicing.
It didnt seem to quite annoying Nanny Martha, who thought that Jace was much too young. Martha was only a Mandane with the sight and she knew she would be easily ignored or disposed of if she spoke up against her boss and his wishes.
Eventually after she found Jace dangling from the pillars in the Practice room she decided he was, in fact, too little to be practicing.
"he cant even take it seriously! he dangles from the-"
His father cut her off, "youre his nanny, teach him better behavior."
"Hes not ready to be using the knife-"
"Its not your bisness, in fact, you can pack up your things and leave."
she was shocked, leave? leave jace? He was only a young kid, and his father had no intention on keeping him safe. Sure, he taught him, and took wacth over him but he knew nothing about raising chldren.
And Jace wasnt only a child, he was speacial.
She didnt argue, she just went to her bedroom, across the hall from Jaces, and began to pack.
Small arms wrapped arpund her waist, "Nanny Martha, youre not leaving! he cant make you!" Jace shouted, he was small for his age (surely he would fill out soon, maybe be tall like his father).
"Jace, you need to go join your father for dinner."
"no! you cant make me!"
Martha was afraid of all his yelling, at the attention it might make, and if any of the other maids were afraid of what was happening surely they would send for Mr. Wayland.
(a/n: none of the maids knew Mr Wayland was really Valentine...)
She sat with him on her small bed, and was about to explain that she would be okay, she would find another job, but she couldnt stand looking in Jaces sad gold eyes.
"Shes leaving Jace, its not your responsibility. You dont understand," His father had said from the doorway.
Jace sniffled, "But she cant!" and he ran out of the room, down the hall, and from the second floor up the staircase to the third floor, his father and ex-nanny trailing behind, but all his training had come in handy and he quickly out a gap between the adults.
He stood at the top of the staircase and assesed his options, he coud go down the hallway and hide in a room, but he would risk his nanny leaving before he was found, or he could get caught and if he didnt move soon he would have to.
He glanced around, where the balcony overlooked the front door, and made himself a third option. He climbed over the railing of the balacony, hanging three storys up, and stood on an old whichlight that was built into the wall. He kept climbing down so that he was holding onto the rug of the third floor with his toes hardly on the whichlight.
"Jonathan Christopher Wayland!" His father yelled when he caught up to him.
"Jace!" Martha yelled, "get off of that!"
"Not unless you can stay!" He glanced up at them, all he would have to do was have his fingers slip and he would fall.
"Jonathan! If you dont get down from there you'll just fall!"
"Maybe i wanted to." He took one hand off the rug and put it by his side.
"Jace please get off of that!" Martha pleaded, tears were in her eyes. How could she let a five year old do this?
"fine then," as Martha let a relieved sigh out, Jace reached for another whichlight, a little to the right of his foot-ledge-whichlight and wrapped one hand around it then quickly the other.
"Jonathan! Stop playing around!" his dad yelled.
Ex-Nanny Martha, still panicing, ran down to the second floor as Jace and his father stood off against eachother.
Jace started to slip, but wasnt going to back off, "but i want her here!"
"well you need someone to take care of you!"
"Well youre obviously not doing that nice of a job! What if i fall?"
And he did, right down into the arms of no longer-ex-nanny Martha, who was leaning over the railing of the second floor railing, waiting to catch him when he fell.
