Jac couldn't sleep and was silently looking out of the bedroom window in darkness. She could just make out the sleeping form of Emma and she smiled at her little soft snores and sleepy noises. She noticed car head lights on the main road and was surprised when they stopped outside the house. She didn't know why but she instinctively ducked down below the window sill and concealed herself with the curtain as she peeped out.
Jac swallowed a silent gasp as she realised that the person in the car was. Abigail Tate. Jac crawled to the bedside table and picked up her phone, once on the landing she called 999 for the police and quickly explained the situation. Next she went to Fletch's room. She knelt by the bed and shook him "Fletch" she said in a loud whisper "Fletch wake up"
Fletch lazily opened his eyes "mmm knew
you wouldn't be able to resist coming to my bed" he went to touch her
"Fletch listen, Abigail Tate is outside"
"What? Are you sure?" Both their hearts were pounding now
"Well I'm 99.9% sure it's her. What car does she drive?"
"I've got no idea babe. We never went anywhere or did anything other than.. well you know"
Even in the dark he could tell that Jac was rolling her eyes.
"I've called the police so I guess we just need to sit tight"
"But how the hell did she find us here?" He wondered just as his phone alerted him to a text
"It's from her"
"Read it then" Jac said urgently

You didn't really think I'd give up on you that easily did you.
I suppose you're in the house that I'm looking at right now, judging by your phone locator.
Is your little slut with you?
"Oh shit, I completely forgot.when I made that call to you from her office, you'll remember my hands were bound so she unlocked the phone and found your number in the contacts. I wondered how she knew the pass code to unlock the phone at the time but I haven't given it a second thought since. I'm sorry Jac, I've put us all in danger"
"Hey" she reached for his hand in the dark "it's not your fault, or mine or anyone's. It's her"
"Do you think I should respond to get text?"
"I don't know but I think you and I should go downstairs before we disturb the kids"
Jac spoke as they went downstairs
"She'll have seen the beast parked in the drive because although you didn't know her car I am absolutely sure she will know yours. So she knows you're here but does not know that me and the kids are; so text her, say you're here by yourself and ask her to leave you alone"
Fletch looked questioningly at Jac. "You think?"
"Well unless you have any other bright ideas lover boy" Jac snapped "Sorry" she touched his arm. "I'm just nervous"
Fletch sat down and texted Abigail, hoping the police would be here soon

I am here by myself. I just needed some time. Please leave me alone. We had fun but I don't want to be with you
I hope we can be civil enough to work with each other

He showed the message to Jac before he sent it - she nodded but muttered "after this she won't be coming to back to work with a bit of luck"
He pressed send and they awaited the response
