Jac arrived later at Fletch's to collect Emma. He had already done the kids' tea.
"Hi" he said opening the door and kissing her on the cheek affectionately
"Hi" she smiled at the simple chaste gesture
"I've already fed the rabble. Hope that's ok"
"Of course" Jac sat down wearily at the kitchen table, it had been a long first day
"Any chance of a cuppa babe?" She asked
"No problem but have you eaten"
"Erm ...."
"I thought as much. Omelette and salad?"
"Thanks" she smiled gratefully "I don't expect this everyday you know"
"You'll expect to be looked after however I see fit Ms Naylor" he flashed the famous Fletcher grin and dammit she just melted.
After Jac had finished she stood at the sink washing the pots. Fletch came up behind her, his arms encircling her waist, lips grazing her neck
"That makes washing up a more pleasant task Mr Fletcher"
"Mmm That all depends on who the washer upper is"
Jac giggled like a school girl
Fletch laughed "who are you and what have you done with Jac Naylor"
She giggled again "come on, let me go Fletch I need to get Emma sorted out"
Fletch didn't move even when she managed to turn round in his arms so that she was facing him.
"Fletch please you know I have to get going"
"And you know that there is a price for your release"
Jac looked up at him and rolled her eyes but couldn't hide the smile playing on her lips. She raised an eyebrow.
Fletch arms held her tighter as he bent his head to kiss her, gently at first but both deepened the kiss almost immediately.
"Eww gross dad" Mikey said walking into the kitchen in search of a biscuit
They pulled apart, Jac blushing, Fletch guffawing.
"Alright mate, less of the cheek"
The interruption had given a Jac the opportunity to go and gather Emma and her things.
"Come on baby time to go"
"Mumeeeeeey. I'm watching Beauty and the beast with Ella"
"I'm sorry darling but we really need to go"
"Okay" Emma huffed
"She is a proper mini me" Fletch commented
Evie came downstairs about 10 minutes after they had left
"Jac and Emma gone dad?"
"Yep"
"Why? Why aren't they staying. What did you do?"
"What?! I didn't do anything"
"Well you have got previous form dad"
"Again what?!"
"Dad, I'm winding you up. You and Jac are obviously the real deal which leads me back to my original question of why isn't she staying ?"
"Well apparently it's too soon. I guess she has a point, if it hadn't been for - well, you know who we wouldn't have been sharing family dinners yet"
"So you were pushed into it but seriously Dad all those months, all you could speak about was a Jac. It's not your typical whirlwind romance because you both loved each other way before you actually got together"
Fletch looked warily at her
"Dad-she told me everything that night"
"Oh. Anyway it's up to her. Just a bit more time she said. And she would have to move in here because as you know her house is tiny"
"Well I think you're just delaying the inevitable so you might as well just get on with it" Evie turned on her heel to get in with homework
Fletch agreed with his daughter, he just had to work out a way to persuade Jac
