I wake up and look around, immediately noticing that I am surrounded by people. I groan and shift around a little bit. "Calum?" someone says and I look towards them.
"Michael?" I croak out half heartedly and cough a little.
"I was so worried about you baby." he says, rushing to my side and I smile at him as he holds my hand.
"I missed y-you." I mumble and smile at the gentle touches he gives me. "How long was I out?"
"A few days, babe." he tells me, moving to sit on the edge of my bed and carresses my cheek softly and I lean into his touch.
"Oh." I say and look down at my hands when suddenly I start crying. "She cut off m-my left ring finger, M-Mikey." I sob and he pulls me close to him, actually, he moved closer to me and held me close to him.
"I know, baby." he murmurs in my hair.
"Wh-what if I want to g-get married or play my b-bass?" I ask him with a broken heart. "What am I-I going to do?" I squeak.
"You could learn to play opposite handed, and if you wanted to get married, you could get a tattood ring yeah?" he mumbles softly and I nod slowly and begin to calm down.
"Are you okay now?" he asks and I nod slowly as the doctor walks in.
"Ah, Mr. Hood. You're awake." he says happily "Good, good." he nods and sits down in one of the chairs with a clipboard in his hand as Michaek removes himself from my hospital bed and I wipe my cheeks.
"How're you feeling?" he asks, scribbling something on his clip board before I even respond.
"F-fine." I tell him causing him to look up at me.
"Have you always had a stutter?" he asks and I shake my head no. "I figured the electrocution would result in some brain damage." he mumbles. I look down at my injured hand and sigh, my body suddenly feeling really sore and worn out.
"Don't worry though, a stutter wont effect your singing voice and it may not be permanent. We are going to keep you here one more night just to keep an eye on things and make sure you're completely fine before sending you home."
"O-Okay." He leaves and I sigh sadly, feeling useless all of a sudden.
"Are you okay?" Michaels asks and I just nod.
"Just tired and my head hurts." I mumble, flopping back on the bed.
"Go to sleep." he slimply says, rubbing soft circles on my hand soothingly.
"Cuddle." I mumble childishly, already moving over to make room for him. He hesitates before nodding and slips into the bed next to me and pulls me to his chest. Suddenly, I flinch, my head sending me back to Ruby.
She tightens the strap around my waist, but loosens the one around my chest and pulls me to a sitting position. She looks at me before straddling my waist with a twisted smirk on her face as she smacks our lips together painfully and pulls away quickly. Before I can reach up and wipe my lips, there's a stinging sensation on my cheek and my head is snapped in a different direction. I cough, a small splatter of blood hitting the backs of my teeth as I groan in pain.
"Calum! Calum! Calm down!" a voice says, breaking me from my flash back as I look at him with frantic eyes. "It's me." he murmurs, cupping my cheek and smiling at me softly. "It's just me." he says again as I begin to relax.
"Just y-you." I repeat breathily and he nods. "O-Okay." I close my eyes, waiting for my heart to stop beating like I just ran nonstop for four miles. I calm down finally, and settle back against Michael, this is a lot worse than I thought.
I wake the next morning in the same position in which I fell asleep. Michael's awake and he smiles at me, playing with my hair lovingly as we stay in silence.
"I l-love you." I suddenly blurt and he smiles wide.
"I love you too." he says just as the doctor walks in.
"Morning, Mr. Hood." he greets and Michael gets out of the bed and sits in his own chair as if he wasn't just there. I frown at the sudden coldness but look at the doctor.
"M-morning." I say and he writes something down on his clip board already.
"Okay, we are going to run a few cat scans on your head before you can leave this evening." he turns to Michael. "I'm sorry, but you've alread exceeded your stay and have to leave, but you may return during visiting hours." he informs him and I sigh, watching Michael leave sadly after he leaves a peck on my lips.
"Alright, Mr. Hood are you ready?" he asks and I nod, standing up. He unhooks my IV and leads me down the hall to what I assume is the cat scan room.
I lay on the bed thing and am instructed to lie as still as possible, and that there might be some weird noises while I'm lying in there, but it would only take about twenty or so minutes. So I lay in complete silence and boredem as I'm inserted into the machine. It feels longer than it probably is, but I finally get out and sit on the edge to wait for the results.
"Okay, Calum." a different person says, walking into the room holding a piece of paper. He sits down next to me and shows me the paper of what looks like my brain. "Due to the electrical shocks your brain experienced, some brain cells have died -which is what this is showing here-" he points to a black area on the paper. "And this leads us to what we believe is a diagnosis of temporary Epilepsy."
"Are you serious?" I say in disbelief.
"I'm afraid so." he mumbles. I feel my eyebrows scrunch up in pain as I think of everything that's happened. What is wrong with me?
"Okay." I mumble sadly and stand up and walk out to go change into my regular clothes so I can leave.
When I walk out to the front where I'm getting picked up, I see Michael talking to my doctor. I walk up to listen to their conversation nonchalantly.
"He could have a seizure at any moment, so it might be smart to keep an eye out in case of that." he says, handing him what I'm guessing is my perscription.
"Have a nice day."
