this is shitty af and long over due
Nobody would have thought that the two men who had fought for each other from one end of the world to the would have ended up breaking up, getting back together repeatedly. The couple fought a lot despite their old age, but they loved one another nonetheless.
"I fucking hate you!" the tan man screams with tears in his eyes, gripping a picture frame in his shaky hands and chucking it in the direction of his significant other. Michael dodges it swiftly and rushes to Calum's side with tears on his cheeks.
"Cal, baby it was an honest mistake. Please." he begs, his voice cracking as if he were a teenager again.
"An honest mistake? You called me saggy and old!" he shouts, his back turning towards the paler. "I don't care who you're with, if it's a business trip, a meeting or whatever, you should treat me with respect, Michael." his voice had dropped by then, falling into his regular speaking voice as the first hot tears ran down his face in a rush.
"I know baby." Michael says, grabbing his hand and kissing the knuckles softly, sending goosebumps up Calum's arm as it always had.
"Stop." Calum tries, pulling his hand away.
"Calum." Michael begs once more making him sigh, slumping his shoulders.
"Fine, but only because we have to go to Liam's wedding." he mumbles softly and michael figures that well, it's a start. The two men proceed to change into their appropriate attire and head out to their old mini van that they still had yet to trade in from when their children were still up and growing.
"Cal--" he tries but the other cuts him off abruptly.
"Don't even try it." he snaps, keeping his eyes on the road. The car ride continued in complete silence, not even the radio could appease their ears as they parked in front of the church and got out. Calum didn't even pretend to be happy on their son's wedding day as he stomped through the doors, his eyes still red and puffy from the earlier events as they had arrived just as the wedding was about to start so they had to immediately take their seats. Calum sat uncontently next to his husband as Jesse stood waiting for Liam to walk down the isle to meet him.
"At least pretend to be happy." Michael mutters from behind him making Calum fume even more, but he lets a soft smile obtain his chapped lips.
They watch Liam walk down the isle to meet his husband and they say their vows after everyone is seated and move along to their I do's quickly, but not quick enough for Calum's liking. He wasn't particularly fond of sitting next to his husband at the moment so when the ceremony was over and they headed over to the reception, Calum did not sit next to Michael. He sat at the same table but on the other side where he can provide death glares to him.
"C'mon, Calum." Michael says, "Won't you dance with me?" he finally gives in and takes his husband's hand and proceeding to follow him onto the dance floor. "This reminds me of our wedding." Michael hums softly, placing a soft kiss on his neck.
"I'm still mad at you, Michael." Calum says, his cold hands intertwining with Michael's contrasting warm ones.
"Can't you forgive me?" Michael pouts, sticking out his bottom lip. Calum drops his head on Michael's chest with a warm smile, shaking his head slightly.
"I hate you." Calum chuckles softly, leaning up to press their lips together gently.
"Oh, but you love me." Michael smirks, pressing their foreheads together gently as they away to the beat of a slow delicate song.
"I suppose you're right. I do love you, Michael Clifford and I don't know what I'd do without you."
