Three days later Dad had demanded to be released, but they refused. They put him in a wheel chair and refused to let him out of his room. I tried to just wheel him away at one point, and they banned me from the hospital. So I was climbing a tree outside Dad’s window one morning and rather struggling. I didn’t dare use my wings, and I was carrying a bag of food for him, so I was weighed down considerably. I managed to get to the limb facing Dad’s window and I began to swing from my hands.
Dad had left it open, bless him, and I easily flew foot first into the room. I landed with a thump as my black combat boots hit the tile floor. There was a rather loud curse and the sound of weapons being drawn. I stood up, pushing my too long hair out of my face.
“No, please, don’t draw for me. Sorry I’m late, Dad. This bitch tried to mug me so I-” I stopped mid-sentence. He was there. Right there. I blinked. This was bad. My madness was even worse. I had been seeing dead people I knew all morning and now Castiel. I swallowed and gasped for air. No one seemed to see him so I had no clue what to do. He seemed so solid, so real. He even had a shadow. He was looking at me like I was the only thing in the room, but I knew it was all in my head. I put a hand over my mouth and sank into a chair, my eyes squeezed shut. I heard quick footsteps and the sound of my father’s wheelchair.
“Ange? Angela what’s wrong?” Sam asked softly. He took my free hand and squeezed it a bit. Dad placed a hand on my shoulder and I looked at him. He looked a bit worried and upset himself. I choked down the sob growing in my chest. Dad in a wheelchair, Castiel dead, the boys feuding. I couldn’t deal with all this. My madness could even sense his grace, ten feet from me. Then he wasn’t ten feet away. He was kneeling down in front of me, his blue eyes searching my face for answers, just like he used to when he was confused. Sam and Dean looked at him. Looked at him?
I suddenly shot out my hand and it came into very real contact with Cas’ shoulder. I gasped and the tears came, hot and heavy. How was he here? I slipped off the chair into his arms and cried into his shoulder. He didn’t even hesitate to hold me. He gripped me tight and leaned his head against mine. He was here. He was really here. I pulled back a bit and looked at him.
“Don’t you ever, EVER, do that to me again! Never.” I said shakily and buried my face back in his shoulder. I could feel him nodding as I held onto the front of his coat. I finally sat up and wiped at my tears. I slid back into the chair and pushed my hair behind my ears. Dad looked a bit awkward, and I knew why. Dad had figured it out. He didn’t seem all that upset about it actually. Sam was looking at me with a small smile, he already knew, but Dean was looking at me like I had grown a second head.
“Wow, Angela. Didn’t know you would cry a river when you found out.” Dean said condescendingly. Sam flinched and face palmed. Wait? Found out?
“Wait? You knew, but you didn’t tell me?” I said slowly. Dean paled and took a step back. I glared at him and Sam placed a hand on my shoulder.
“You had enough to deal with. What with Bobby, and your wings.” He said. I suppose he was right. I nodded my head and looked back at Cas, who was now standing. He looked puzzled.
“Wings?” He said. I looked at Dean and he closed the door. Sam pulled the shutters on the window and I slid off my leather jacket.
CASTIEL
She slid off the jacket and huge white wings burst forth. She was smothered in grace and a star hovered over her head. No one else could see this, obviously, but she had obviously been inducted into the garrison. I looked at her carefully. She had become an angel, but was still human, and alive. The question was how. I thought back through the time I had known her, trying to sort out the process. She had been driven mad, which left her mentality open to suggestion, which would have helped a bit. Then there was the wings. She had grown fond of them, used to flying which would make her mind make a link to angels. She was already psychic and good at it, and then there was me.
