I felt groggy and shifted slightly, the warm person beside me moving their arms so I could reposition. I could tell they were a guy, and they smelled like vodka, but that was most people in the house. I nuzzled closer to them and felt a button press against my cheek. Small and similar to the one pressed into my chin. I pulled back and looked up. Cas was looking down at me and had that tiny smile on his face. I grinned up at him and then he shifted his head and the sunlight hit my face. I groaned and buried my face in his chest. He covered my eyes and held me close.
A bang came from behind me and I jumped from my bed my wings bursting out behind me and knocking Cas from the bed we were on. I don’t know what bed or what room, but it was in the same building as Jo, Ellen and Bobby. Dean stood at the door with a toothbrush in his mouth. He smiled at me and I waved my hand, making the door slam in his face. I twitched my head and the door locked. I grabbed my leather jacket off the chair and walked over to Cas, slipping it on as I went.
“Cas, honey? Are you alive?” I asked. He was climbing unsteadily to his feet. He was in his shirt and pants, but was missing his tie and jacket. His trench coat was on the bed and he was struggling to put on his shoe. I grinned and found a shirt, not mine, on the edge of the bed. Suddenly Jo popped her head out from under the covers.
“Guys what’s with all the noise?” she said sleepily. Cas and I exchanged looks and I pointed to the door. He ran out with one shoe and his coat. I walked over to the bed and she laughed, sitting up. “You have him on a leash, sweetie.” She said. She was in a bra but no shirt. I looked down and realized I was wearing hers. I gave it to her and she handed me mine. It was under Cas’ pillow. I blinked and pulled it on. The back was already ripped so my wings slipped right through. I pulled on my leather jacket and helped her out of bed. She was in boxers that looked very familiar. I looked at them.
There was suddenly a very feminine scream from upstairs. I was awake instantly. I grabbed Jo and we ran upstairs. We dashed into my room and found Sam jumping into a pair of jeans, a pair of woman’s underwear on the floor. I looked a Jo in confusion and she shrugged. Then we both looked at her boxers. Sam’s boxers. I burst into laughter and fell on the floor as she snatched up her underwear and mumbled something about burning. I laughed as Sam ran after her, begging for his underwear back. I slid down the banister and landed next to the only one who seemed to be sober and not hung over. Dean.
He grinned at me and I socked him in the stomach. He groaned and crumbled. I flounced to the kitchen where Dad and Ellen were plating up a greasy breakfast and this drink they always gave us after we got hammered. I took one and drank it quickly, shoveling eggs into my mouth immediately afterwards. It tasted vile, but it cleared up a hangover like nobody’s business. Jo and Sam stumbled into the room and took their medicine like good little kids. When Cas didn’t show up, I went to find him. He was in the living room looking around blurrily.
“Oh Cas.” I said and he turned to me. I took his hand and he stumbled after me to the kitchen. I handed him the cup and he shot it. He gaged and swallowed.
“What kind of a shot was that?” he gasped. I chuckled as his eyes bugged out of his head. The others looked at me expectantly and I sighed.
“Potato cream pie.” I said. Cas looked at the glass.
“That does not taste of potatoes.” He said darkly. The others burst into laughter and he looked around in a confused way. I rolled my eyes. We didn’t talk much and the laughter didn’t last. We sobered up packed our bags. I kissed Dad goodbye and Jo and Ellen climbed in the Jag with me. Dean, Sam and Cas all climbed in the Impala. We started the hunt for Lucifer.
We stopped for gas a few hours later and I walked over to talk to Cas. He saw me and made a beeline to get to me. He pulled me into a hug and I buried my face in his shirt. He smelled of milk and honey, just like always, and it was comforting. Knowing that Castiel would always smell like the Promised Land. It was romantic and gooey, but I loved it. It was my guilty pleasure. I looked up at him and was for the first time scared about what we were going to do.
