I had opened my eyes to see at least 5 people standing over me. The bright light from above causing my eyes to water quite a bit, so I squeezed them shut and reopened them as I sat upward. So many people were trying to talk to me at once, it was hard to understand what everyone was saying. Until the doctor had told everyone they either need to be quiet or leave, I still hadn't comprehended what had happened.

"Okay, Ms. Anabelle. Can you tell me what happened?" The doctor had asked, taking out his clipboard so he can write stuff down. I nod my head and proceed to respond, "I don't remember it perfectly, but I remember being on the fourwheeler one second, and smashing my head against the ground the next."

"Okay, from what it looks like, you most likely have a severe concussion. This type of concussion can cause a lot of symptoms, including brain failure. We're going to have to keep you in here for a few days, to make sure you're doing okay. Does that sound good?" The doctor asks, writing more information on the clipboard, also making sure my father knows whats going on.

I nodded my head and told the doctor that sounded good, and with that, he had left my room. My father stayed for a little while longer until he said he'd go out and bring back food for the four of us. I thanked him and leaned back on my hospital bed. I was still wearing an old pair of jeans from when I went fourwheeling, the button poking my stomach in an uncomfortable way. I unbuttoned them and sat just like that, until Grayson had to ask why.

"It's uncomfortable. I didn't bring an extra pair of pants." I explain, moving a certain way to make myself more comfortable.

Grayson just nods and sits down in one of the waiting chairs, Ethan already sprawled across the couch that was seated in the room. I laughed at his position and opened up my phone, that happened to have been seated at the little table beside the bed.

"Did you guys bring my phone here?" I ask, curious to how it got there.

"Yeah, I went back to your house and grabbed it when I informed your father what happened." Ethan responded while he was on his phone, not participating in the conversation very much.

I thank him and open up my snapchat, I had no notifications so I just went and looked at a few peoples stories. I smiled at a few of them and smirked at a couple more. Parker and Grayson were still talking, but I had ended up completely zoning them out.

"Did you hear us, Anabelle!" Parker yells, getting me out of my trance, I shake my head no and laugh. Parker looks at me with a glare and asks me again, "Do you want Gray and I to get you a change of clothes?"

I simply nod my head yes, watching them okay it and leave the room, leaving me with Ethan.  I look down at Ethan who had been looking at his phone on the couch the entire time. I keep looking at him until I get the courage to talk.

"Hey Ethan." I say, not continuing with anything but sticking with that.

He looks at me and gives me the 'sup' nod, going back on his phone.

I thought everything was fine with us, I don't know what was going on now. I look at him again and ask. He turns his phone off and sits up, looking at me.

"Do you want the truth, Anabelle?" Ethan asks, running his hand through his curled brown hair.

I nod my head yes and wait for him to answer. He sighs and starts,

"Look, Anabelle. With all of the circumstances from the past, it may not seem like it, but I actually really like you. I didn't want to though, so I took it out on you, to see if I could stop it. But something, no, someone, made me realize that I can't just keep hurting someone I care about. Seeing you, here, after you almost died, it hurt me a lot. But if I keep talking to you now, it'll make me fall for you again, just like before. And I don't know if I want that to happen."
