Unbreakable

Chapter One

It's another beautiful day! The sun is shining on the bay and the city looks peaceful.

Suddenly, an explosion goes off and smoke rises into the air.

"Aces! Take flight!" I order, and my team immediately acts.

We're like a well oiled-machine. Our teamwork is unmatched, our effeciency is at the highest level and our success rate is near perfect.

Let me introduce ourselves: we are the "Aces" and we dedicate our lives to fighting crime and protecting our beloved city.

This team was only put together fairly recently, about a year ago. The mayor of the city felt the need for a special crew in addition to the police to combat the especially dangerous and crafty criminals. Our team consists of myself, Hawk, Falcon and Eagle.

I, Sapphire June Kingsley, am the leader of this team. Unlike the other members, I am not named after a bird. I am trained in martial arts, like my friends, but was never successful at any aerial stunts. Because of this, I worked on agility and stealth, and pride myself with being cat-like. This distinction is what helped determine me as the leader. Not only that, but I was also the most experienced, since I served as the mayor's bodyguard.

I am not very tall and fairly lean. I have very tanned skin, black hair and blue eyes. It's uncommon for someone like me to have blue eyes, hence the name.

Anyway, moving onto the other members.

Hawk, Ashton Neo Parker, is my boyfriend of 2 years. I met him during one of the training sessions for newcomers that my precinct has annually. Anyway, I was the instructor and he was the top student; he impressed me with his skills, but also his humility.

Hawk comes from out of the city, but was transfered here because he wanted change, and he helped increase security levels here.

He is tall and muscular, but also lean. He has dark brown hair and grey eyes. His smile is amazing and his heart is beautiful; but don't ever underestimate him. He can take out a whole pack of people on his own.

He chose the name "Hawk" because of their speed and attentiveness. Traits that he continues to develop in himself.

Moving on...Falcon, Declan Drew Hood, is Hawk's bestfriend since grade school. They come from the same background, but Falcon was not chosen to transfer with Hawk. When this team was being assembled. Hawk recruited Falcon, vouching for him on every level, and he has been proven right on everything he promised.

Declan chose his name because he believes falcons have ferocity, but also valor. He is very serious and dedicated, but it is because he wants to be honourable in everything he does.

Falcon is the same height as Hawk, but more muscular and buff. He has tanned skin, dirty blonde hair, and mysterious dark brown eyes. He has very protective instincts, but also has an incredible sense of humor. His laugh is absolutely contageous.

Finally, our last and youngest member is Eagle, Aliana Rose Finch. She was recruited by the mayor. She had done outstanding work in her old precinct, which caught the eye of the mayor and caused him to bring her here.

She started dating Falcon about 4 months ago. It was very interesting seeing him persue her, but always getting rejected. Eventually, his charm and caring manner made her cave in and they have been as happy as ever.

Eagle is tall and lean, and very fit. She has long, wavy red hair that fits her heart-shaped face perfectly, and she has beautiful green eyes that sparkle whenever she smiles.

Eagle is the name she chose for their elegance, but also intelligence. She has a very proper manner, but thinks herself as an equal to everybody.

Each member contributes something unique and fits perfectly in the team. We are like a family; a seriously badass family. We're all trained in martial arts, acrobatics and weaponry. We each have our individual gadgets and tools, but also team standard gizmos aswell. We all have smoke bombs, flash bombs, small grenades and guns.

The three other members have mechanical wings that let them fly, hence the bird names and team name "Aces". I, on the other hand, have the fastest motorbike around. It's sleek and black and hums with horse power.

Eagle's individual weapons of choice are two long whips. They match her elegant style and are very effective.

Falcon is our techy guy, so he came up with a number of different gadgets that I still don't understand. The most distinct one, however, is a sword that has multiple settings, such as electricity, fire, etc.

Hawk chose two long knives; he prefers close combat and using his wings to their full potential.

I, like Falcon, have a number of tools. He made me gloves with retractable claws for close combat. I also have a boomerang. My favourite weapon, however is my staff. It's long and made of stainless steel. The bottom is sharp and the top has the ability to shoot electricity.

It's safe to say that whoever dares to attempt to mess with our city is in for a world of trouble.

We live our lives to ensure the safety of our city. We are a team, a family.

We are the Aces!

I'm sorry this was all just introductions. It gets better from here I promise. There is a little more exposition, I will admit, but it won't be like this chapter.
