Chapter 8

Nari's POV

"Congratulations for Nari and Felix! You both scored the highest for the science project during our science week!" Mrs. Lee announced.

Everyone gave us a big applause while me and Felix stood up to receive the certificate. After taking some pictures, we both sat down. When I was on my way back, I saw some glares from a few girls, they looked like they were gonna kill me anytime soon. I rolled my eyes and ignored them.

Soon, it was lunch break. I was eating with the boys when suddenly I had a stomachache. I kept holding by stomach until Seungmin noticed, "Nari, you okay?"

I nodded slowly before the pain attacked me more.

"You look so pale," Woojin frowned.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Chan asked.

Felix looked at me and touched my forehead.

"I'll go to toilet," I said quickly and immediately stood up. I ran to the toilet and puked.

"What did I eat yesterday? I only eat school's food," I muttered as I washed my hands and mouth.

Then I came out of the toilet and saw a bunch of girls looking at me with a smirk on their faces. I sighed a little and was about to walk away when one of them pulled my hair. I stumbled and my back hit the wall.

"Are you okay now? It seems like you just puked just now," the one who seems like the leader asked with a fake smile on her face.

"I'm fine, let go of my hair," I said and looked at the other girl who held my hair.

"Looks like you ate the food yesterday," she smiled creepily.

"What? What food?" I asked.

"The school's food. We put something on your food, that's why you had a stomachache just now," she said.

I frowned, "How dare you-- What's your reason to do that?!"

"I thought we told you to stay away from Felix?" she asked, as she stepped closer to me and pulled my hair. The other girl stepped aside and gave her some space.

"I've never talk to you guys before," I replied, only to be pulled more.

"Alicia," she whispered and I widened my eyes.

Alicia... The girl who's obsessed with Felix.

"Now you know?" she asked again and I nodded slowly.

"We are Alicia's friends. Her brother told us to keep an eye on you incase if you're still sticking with Felix," she said. "Remember Felix is only for Alicia, not for anyone else, not even you. Get it?"

"Who are you to say that? It's up to Felix, who he wants to hang out with. What's even your problem?" I asked and right after that, my head was banged to the wall.

"Our problem is.. you," she said, emphasizing the word 'you'.

"Stay away from Felix, and we won't hurt you," she demanded.

I started to get mad. I shoved her hand away from my hair, "I don't care if you will hurt me or not, as long as you don't hurt Felix."

She laughed, "Woah woah, are you saying that you're gonna protect him?"

"Listen, I don't love Felix, I never love him. Me and Felix are just friends. So stop bothering us, idiots," I raised my voice.

"Yeah we know. But Felix is the one who's falling for you, don't you know that?!" she shouted.

"I KNOW!!" I shouted right at her face.

"Then stay away from him. I warned you, we're still being nice to you now, but not on our second meeting," she said and motioned her friends to go.

I sighed heavily and went back to the cafetaria, to the boys' table.

"Yah Nari, what took you so long? We've finished our food already," Hyunjin asked.

"Nothing, I just puked," I said and was about to eat my food when I remembered what happened so I put back down the spoon.

"Why? You're not eating?" Chan asked.

"Mm, not in the mood," I said as I lifted up the food tray and stood up.

I immediately left them and put back the tray at the place. Then I went outside the cafetaria and the school building to take fresh air.

Just then, a pair of arms wrapped around my waist. I gasped and turned my head a bit, only to see Felix resting his chin on my left shoulder.

"Felix, I told you we shouldn't be like this in scho--"

"I tried, Nari. I tried," he said, he sounded very sad and desperate. "I tried everything to hide my feelings, I tried not to like you anymore, I even tried to hate you. But by doing that, I love you even more. So I stopped."

I tried to remove his hands, but he just tightened the grip. I sighed, "Felix, someone might see us."

"So what?" he asked. "It's been years since I want to hug you like this."

"No but--"

"Why are you so ashame to be with me?" he asked, his tone suddenly became cold.

"What?" I scoffed. "Felix, you misunderstand this situation. I never even once to be ashamed with you."

"Then? Why are you always avoiding me in school?" he asked.

"It's because.. because..," I stopped, I couldn't answer. It's impossible for me to tell him everything, especially about Alicia. He might be the one getting hurt.

"See, you can't answer," he said and released his hands.

"Sorry, I can't tell you," I felt guilty, but it's for his own good.

He smiled with sarcasm, "I wonder how many secrets you're hiding from me."

After he said that, he left. I sighed, not knowing of what to do. I actually wanted to tell him everything, but a part of me just didn't let me to do it.
