Chapter 16

Felix's POV

I felt a slight pain on my head, I could feel the cold air brushing through my face, and my eyes squinted as the light in the white room was shining so brightly. 

Yes, I changed my mind. I have to live, for Nari.

"Felix! You're awake?! Can you hear me?! Can you see me?!" Nari's face popped out in my view. I felt a pain on my chest when I saw her condition. Her face was pale, her lips were dry, her eyes were red, and her hair was tied into a very messy bun. She didn't take care of herself properly.

My hand reached her face, and she immediately held my hand as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"You didn't take care of yourself," I whispered.

She shook her head, tightening her grip on my hand, "No, you shouldn't talk about that right now. Look at your condition."

"How long have I been unconscious?" I asked, trying to sit up but failed due to the unbearable pain on my back.

She became panicked. "Felix! Don't sit up! Your back isn't healed yet."

"I'm fine . How long have I been unconscious, Nari?" I repeated.

"4 days," she replied.

"Did you eat? Did you sleep well? Did you rest?" I attacked her with questions. I was seriously worried.

She avoided eye contacts with me and let go of my hand. "I did, don't worry. I'm calling the doctor now since you're awake."

I sighed when she was out of my sight. A minute later, a doctor and a nurse came into my room to check on me. But I didn't see Nari.

"Where is the girl that called you just now?" I asked the doctor when was writing something on a paper.

"Oh she's outside. Don't worry too much about your girlfriend, your condition is worse than her," the doctor smiled.

How I wish she's my girlfriend, my one and only.

The doctor asked me some questions about the pain and all, and I answered him patiently.

"Okay, I think you're getting better now. Just don't move too much, the stitch on your back might get opened again," he informed and was about to leave when I grabbed the hem of his white coat.

"What did she do when I'm unconscious?" I asked. The doctor and the nurse exchanged glances.

"I actually don't want to make you worry, but I think I have to tell you this," the doctor paused and looked at me. "She hasn't been eating well, and she hasn't leave this hospital even for a single second."

"She only went to the minimarket downstairs to get a new shirt and maybe a piece of snack," he said again.

"She's also the one who donated her blood for you, young boy." This time my gaze turned to the nurse who was talking. "She was so worried about you when she woke up."

I felt like a dagger was stabbed right into my heart after I heard that. A tear rolled down my cheek. "She donated her blood and she didn't eat well?"

"That's why, we need your help," the doctor said. "Get well soon, and make her eat well so she won't be sick. Her condition is so weak right now."

I nodded and wiped my tears. "I'll make sure that she'll eat."

Nari's POV

"I won't eat if you don't eat, Nari," Felix said for the fifth time today.

I sighed and put down the spoon. "Felix, I told you I just ate downstairs! Now open your mouth and eat."

Then right after I said that, my stomach grumbled. Damn it! Why did it has to make a sound?!

"Now you're saying that you have eat when your stomach literally screamed for food," Felix rolled his eyes, crossing his arms.

"Fine fine," I surrendered. "I'll go down to buy food and I'll eat in front of you."

He smiled in satisfaction, "Now that's my Nari."

I wish.. but I'm not yours, and I don't think I deserve you right now.

I put the bowl on the table beside me and stood up before going out of his room. Using the elevator, I went to the lobby. After buying a bowl of noodle, I was waiting for the elevator to arrive when my eyes met a familiar pair of eyes.

Han Jisung.

"Jisung?" I questioned. He had the same expression as mine, confused and shocked.

"Oh, Nari-ah! What are you doing here?" he asked.

I avoided his gaze. I couldn't tell him that Felix got stabbed because of me and he was laying on the hospital bed at the moment. I told the others that Felix and I got something to do, that's why we couldn't come to school this week. They didn't ask the reason though, they respect our privacy.

"Nari?" he called out, waving his hand in front of my face as he leaned down to get a better view of my face.

"Oh sorry! I'm just doing a monthly check-up here. What about you?" I smiled.

"Ahh, I need to check on something too," he flashed a smile.

But something was weird, I definitely felt it. "You're not sick or something right?"

Just right when he was about to answer, my phone rang. I looked at Jisung, asking for permission to pick up the call and he nodded.

"What, Felix?"

"What is taking you so long?" he asked. "I miss you."

"Felix, I need time to walk down, wait for the elevator, order the food, wait for the food to arrive, wait for the elevator again, and go back up," I rolled my eyes.

"Gosh Nari, chill," he said. I could sense that he was grinning while saying that.

"By the way, I met Jisung just now," I informed.

"Oh then tell him to come up and visit me."

"Are you crazy?!" I whisper-shouted. "It's been so hard for me to cover things up and you want me to tell him?"

"What? Why are you covering what happened to us?" he asked.

I sighed, "I'll talk to you later."

My eyes saw what was written on her phone.

Felix.

She would be lying if she said she's not interested in Felix at all, right?

I forced a smile when she looked at me and I just nodded before she went out of my sight. I sighed. There's no hope for me, she would always see me as her friend.

I was about to go out of the building when my right knee started to ache again. What the hell happened? I thought the doctor said that it's getting better. It hurts so much to the point that I had to sit on the floor and groaned.

Then the last thing I heard was Nari calling out my name several names before I totally blacked out.

Sorry for the late update again huhuhu. I had to research about something to put into this story, I need to make sure that the disease actually exists, and what are the symptoms and all. You will know about it in the next chapter, or next two chapters. :) Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter.
