Chapter 13

Nari's POV

I was currently laying on the clinic's bed, feeling so weak. After the treatment from the nurse, I didn't say a single word anymore. I was trying my best to endure the pain all the time. The nurse said I should go to the hospital after school to get stitches, so for now she just put bandages around my hands and knees.

"Nari," Felix called. He also stayed quiet the whole time. He was sitting beside my bed, but he didn't say a word.

"Hm?" I hummed without looking at him. My eyes were just staring blankly at the ceiling.

"I'm sorry," he said.

"What are you sorry for?"

"I.. I didn't take care of you well. I left you too," he said, but his voice sounded weird. So I looked at him and I was right, he was about to cry.

"Why?" I asked. "Why did you suddenly change now?"

"I can't hold it anymore. Every day, every time, I could only see you from afar. I wanted to talk to you, but I couldn't. Everytime I wanted to say that I miss you, you were talking happily with Hyunjin and Jisung, so I didn't want to bother you and ruin your happiness. But just now, I really couldn't hold myself anymore when Alicia hurt you. I really don't like that," he confessed.

"So now, please don't be hurt anymore. Get well soon, okay? I'm worried," he whispered.

I stared at him for a while before I held his hand softly and smiled, "Don't worry, I'll get well soon."

He seemed surprise by my action, but he got his sense back and held my hand back. "Do you forgive me?"

I smiled wider and nodded, "Of course, it's not completely your fault anyway. I'm wrong too. I asked you to stay away from me, but when you really tried to stay away from me, I asked you to stay by my side."

I was shocked when his other hand suddenly caressed my hair. My heart beat way faster than usual. "So, are we friends again now?"

Friends..? Did he.. lose his feelings for me?

"Friends?"

"Yeah, friends," he smiled.

"S--sure," I smiled, but that smile couldn't last long. I couldn't hide my stupid disappoinment.

I'm such a jerk. Why do I always want more? It's more than enough that now he's my friend again right? Stop wanting more, Nari. Don't act like a stupid jerk.

Felix's POV

I could see her smile was fading away. Why? I thought she just wants us to be friends? I'm trying my best to hide my feelings from her. I'm doing this for her. But she's not happy?

"Nari-ah," I called her to break the awkward silence.
(a/n. I accidentally wrote 'awkward silence' and a second later I realized it's stray kids' song lol.)

"Let's go to the hospital together after school, okay?"

"You don't have anything to do?" she asked back.

"No, I'm free. So let me accompany you," I smiled.

She then smiled, "Okay."

As I was walking out of the school building, searching for Felix, I heard someone calling my name. "Nari-ah! Yang Nari!"

My eyes were searching for that person and smiled when Jisung jogged towards me.

"Gosh, why is it so hard to call you?" he pouted.

I raised an eyebrow, "You just called me for two times..?"

He sulked, "More than five times already."

"Okay, I'm sorry," I laughed.

He smiled a bit and he darted a glance towards my hands. Realizing that, I quickly hid them behind my back.

"How's your hands and knees?" he asked.

I forced a big smile, "They're fine, totally fine."

He then muttered something which I couldn't hear properly, but I think he said something with hurting badly.

Suddenly a hand tapped my right shoulder, which made me flinched. From the scent, I already know who it was.

"Yah you scared me, Felix!" I frowned.

"Let's go," he said, without a tone.

Wait.. what's with his sudden change of attitude again? Gosh I'm tired of this seriously.

"Jisung-ah, I'm going. See you tomorrow!" I smiled and waved at him, as he waved back with a smile, but it looked like a sad smile.

I turned around saw Felix was already a few metres ahead of me. "Aish!" I fastened my speed to catch up with him and walked beside him.

I paid attention to his face and decided to call him, "Yah."

No answer.

"Yah Felix!"

Still no answer.

"LEE FELIX!"

"WHAT," he raised his voice a bit, startled by my sudden yell.

"Are you deaf? Do you have a hearing problem or something?"

"No."

"Then answer me when I call you!"

"I'm not your maid to do whatever you want me to do."

I sighed roughly, "Tell me, what happened to you?"

"Nothing."

I closed my eyes for a while and opened them again, "Felix. Tell. Me."

"Nothing happened."

Gosh, he's really mad for sure.

"I know I'm really dumb to say sorry for you for something that I don't even know, but I'm sorry if I make any mistakes," I said and stomped away, leaving him.

I really hate his ignorant cold personality I swear.

"I'm done," I said to Felix who was sitting on the hospital chair, playing with his phone.

He stood up and started to walk away. I glared at his back and caught up with him again. On our way home, nobody dares to talk. I was surprised when he didn't part our ways to go to his house. Instead he walked to the direction of my house.

When we reached my house, my hand reached the gate when he asked, "Did it hurt?"

I turned around, "What."

"When you get the stitches," he said, eyes everywhere except on me.

I looked at him weirdly, "No, just a little bit."

He nodded slowly.

"You want to go in for a while?" I asked, and mentally facepalmed after that. Why did I ask that?

Say no please.

"Yes," he said and without any other word, he pushed me gently to the side and went inside.
