"so kiss me where I lay down,

my hands pressed to your cheeks,

a long way from the playground..."

SITTING IN front of the principle, covered in spaghetti with tofu sauce, is definitely not how I imagined my first day at a new school. Beside me sat a fuming Arabelle, who wouldn't stop talking, filling every second with nonsense of how I had 'attacked' her with my lunch on purpose .

Needless to say, the principle was hanging off her every word, and shooting disappointed glares at me here and there. I decided it best if I just kept my mouth shut, seeing as the principle was obviously convinced I tried attacking her.

But, I suppose I should rewind, and start from the beginning.

6:30 AM (aka: first day of torture):

I had been dreaming quite the dream, a dream that included me getting married to Zayn. But, I suppose I couldn't just sleep the day away- even though I desperately wanted to.

I slapped the alarm upside the top, making the blaring stop. I sighed in relief at the newfound silence that engulfed me as I slowly threw my comforters off of me, savoring the warm feeling against the cold room.

I kept the jamming out while doing my morning routine to a minimum, knowing that if I brought out the inner pop-star, I'd never leave the bathroom. I brushed my teeth fairly quick, as well as splashing some water on my face before wracking through my closet. While all of me wanted to throw on some sweats and a sweatshirt, and call it a day, I knew I had to put in some effort.

I plucked out a mini denim skirt, a layered knitted sweater, and a black bralette. As for the shoes, I decided on black ankle boots with a heel. I walked into the bathroom and ran a brush through my hair, hoping to get rid of all the knots. I checked my phone and turned to the mirror before grabbing my bag, along with my keys and headed down.

I gave myself a small pep talk while walking to the kitchen, telling myself it'll all be okay. The smell of food wafted into my nose, but the kitchen, along with the house, was quiet. I walked into the kitchen, and noticed a small note attached to the fridge. I gently ripped it off the door and read it.

Morning Mads!

Due to our morning shifts, we couldn't stay long enough to see you before you leave to school, but we made you breakfast to make up for it! Its in the fridge! Hope your first day as a senior is one for the books!

Love, Mom and Dad

At least they didn't forget, I thought bitterly. I opened the fridge and smiled at the food in the plate. There were pancakes in the shape of stars, a small tradition that we did in our family. Beside the pancakes were strawberries, bacon, and some sliced bananas. If they were trying to bribe me with food, it was working.
