"i'm a classic man,

you could be mean when you look this clean,

i'm a classic man,

calling on me like a young OG..."

THERE WERE currently 5 minutes left before school started, and I was nowhere near the school.

Because, well, instead of walking down the parking lot of the school, meeting up with Jane and Nicole, I was stranded on the side of the road, near a gas station, with smoke coming from under the hood.

It was times like this when I really should've payed attention to my dad's endless lectures on how to fix a car engine. Instead, I would pretend to listen, while actually thinking about what I wanted for dinner.

I know, what a great topic.

I huffed out a breath as I stared at the smoking engine in front of me, and wondered why I dressed in a short sleeved shirt, when it was somewhere in the 40s. Me and my dumb decisions. I reached for my phone, but soon realized I left it in the front pocket of my bag. My bag, that was sitting in the passenger seat. I felt for the keys, and when I didn't feel them, I went to the side of the car, and saw them dangling from the ignition.

Leaning back on the door, I rubbed my temple as I cursed myself for being so stupid. How could I possibly manage to leave my keys in the car? I pulled on the door handle desperately as I tried to open it, but it was no use; I was stuck without a phone, and without my keys.

"C'mon, c'mon," I whispered, but felt utterly and completely useless.

And just my luck, I happened to get stuck in...one of the unsafest parts of town. With every car passing, I was scared something would happen to me. I walked to the front of the car and began pacing, to get some warmth running. My hands were shaking from the cold and my lips were probably purple.

I heard a motorbike somewhere in the distance and moved over to the side of the road to get a better look. I saw the bike come towards me, and then it began to slow down once it was within a 30 feet radius.

The mystery man swung his leg from over the seat and began walking over to me, as he reached for his helmet, only to reveal Zac.

Zac.

As in, the boy who annoys the heck out of me, happens to live across the street from me, and reminds me that I might have this itsy bitsy crush on him.

I repeat, a tiny crush on him.

"Well, well, well," he said slowly, dragging each word out, "we meet again, hazel."

I rolled my eyes as I rubbed my arms to get some color into my once tan arms. I really should've decided on something better to wear. But then again, I didn't think I'd get stranded on the side of the road on my way to school.
