"So, are you in?" he asked, his tone gentle, but the patience in his voice was slipping.
She took a moment to mull it over, and finally met his piercing blue eyes.
"Yes," she replied, with a shaky breath, and he let out a contented sigh.
"But unde...

"THEY'RE NOT going to say yes." Cole and Michael said in sync.
January, a month packed into one gigantic Monday, had passed in a blur- surprisingly. It was now February, the month every hopeless romantic dreams of.
Of course, I was at the top of that list.
A time when stores thrive off of sales made from chocolates and huge teddy bears, cards, and flowers. And ironically enough, those items were currently sitting in my shopping cart.
Rolling my eyes at the pair, and the lack of confidence they clearly held, I stopped walking and pushed the cart to the side, allowing a bustling woman to pass
"Yeah," Zac chimed in beside me, "that's quite the deal-breaker."
I stared at him, incredulously, and flicked his arm. After whining about the short-lived pain, he pouted and grinned sheepishly. He walked back over to where he was standing, beside me, and motioned them to come closer.
"I thought you were working with me, not against me," I asked, playfully shoving his arm to the side. As much as it hurts my pride and ego, the slight pain I felt in my hand after made me regret my life choices.
"I am working with you," he emphasized the beginning, "it's just weird imagining my two closest pals dating girls who would do them some good."
The depth of the hidden meaning behind his words settled inside me, and our eyes locked for an immense second. Within that second, however, he had let me inside, he let me see a part of him he didn't go around displaying; he was afraid to lose the two guys that meant the world to him, though he'd never admit that out loud.
An awkward cough got my alerted senses back on track, and I blinked for a moment before turning to the people I had completely forgot about.
"We're uh, we're right here," Michael trailed off.
"Yeah, in case you both forgot," Cole elaborated, stressing the word 'both'.
At the mention of Zac, I looked over to find him absent from the aisle. Knowing I was the one that needed to find him, I told them both to think about some things they admired about Jane and Nicole, before they offered to look for him.
The only problem is; where could he be?
Considering the fact that it was raining buckets outside, I was confident he didn't feel like taking a nice shower. And, since Target had several displays and nooks to hide out in, I felt like a simple look-out would turn into a hunt very quickly.
