"Is she going to be alright?" I heard a deep, panicked voice ask in my groggy state.
My eyes were closed, and I struggled to open them. I felt warmth radiating from my side, and a pain in my head that throbbed uncomfortably.
I groaned loudly, finally able to open my eyes.
I winced at even the dim light in what looked like Bellamy's tent.
My gaze roamed around the tent to find a tense-looking Bellamy sitting next to me. He had a deep crease in his forehead, and his brow was furrowed. Octavia was also in the room, standing over the bed I lay in.
Bed.
I couldn't help but shiver at the thought I was lying in Bellamy's bed.
"Violet, we were so worried!!" Octavia screeched when she saw my eyes opening, throwing her arms around me.
I winced at her violent actions, quickly hiding my expression from her.
"How are you feeling?" She questioned.
I glanced at Bellamy to find him intently staring at me and looking over my injury. He looked furious to say the least.
"My head hurts," was all I could manage.
Octavia nodded sympathetically, and started squeezing my hand.
"Bellamy about had a fit when he saw you go down," she replied.
"Why the hell did you do that?" Bellamy finally spoke. I could practically see the smoke rolling out of his ears.
"Do what?" I reply, confused.
"Step in front of me," he snapped. "I don't need you to defend me."
"I was trying to help you, asshole." I replied, unbelieving he was mad at me helping him.
Octavia cleared her throat uncomfortably, we both snapped our heads around to look at her.
"I'll be waiting outside, come get me when you both are done bickering."
As soon as she left, I felt his intense eyes were once again pointed at me.
"I'm sorry," his raspy voice said.
My eyes snapped up to meet his, surprised.
"W-what?"
"I'm sorry you got hurt," he once again said.
His face looked genuine.
"Why?" I asked. "You've been avoiding me recently, so why do you care?"
"I don't," he quickly replies.
I shake my head. "Then why are you here?"
He looks away, as if he doesn't know how to explain his confusing and contradictory behavior.
"I'm not a good person Violet," He replies darkly, looking as if he were saying it to myself. "You should stay away from me."
My mouth dropped open, surprised at his bluntness.
What does that even mean?I thought to myself.
Somehow, without noticing myself, we had both moved closer to each other on the bed to the point where he was directly in front of me. I could practically feel his breath on my lips. He had light freckles dotting his face, and his slightly curly hair lay messily on his head. I refused the urge to run my hand through it.
