I heard someone calling my name for what seemed like the longest time. Their voice sounded incessant and desperate. They called for me and demanded I wake up. I wanted to listen, to open my eyes and see who was staring down at my damaged and hurting body. But I couldn't open my eyes. They felt heavy, and my body was not my own.

Instead, I listen while they screamed and cried. I felt ashamed at my lack of action, but the darkness kept pulling me back every time I got close to regaining my consciousness.

I kept thinking back to how Bellamy had looked at me. Really looked at me. I felt ashamed at how I refused to hear him out. The rejection I had seen on his face terrified me, because they showed me the effect my actions had on his emotional well-being.

But the darkness didn't allow me to worry for long, as I felt that it would surely swallow me whole.

When I woke up, I knew something was wrong. My body felt heavy, and my head felt wet with blood. My surroundings were foreign, it was as if I was in a cave.

How had I gotten here? I wondered, trying to clear the fog in my brain.

I heard a low and painful groan emit from the cave, and realized I was the one making the sound.

"Violet, thank god you're awake!!" I heard someone say. The fog cleared enough for me to recognize it as Octavia.

Suddenly, everything came back to me. Our fall. The grounder.

"Octavia, what happened?" I croaked out.

The musty smell and my now wide-eyes confirmed that we were in some sort of cave.

I tried standing up, but could only manage to sit myself up slumped against one of the cave walls. The world continued to spin for a good minute before I could see everything clearly, and I saw Octavia's concerned face staring back at me.

"V, he took us." She replied. "I tried to get out but this grounder came and chained me up. I tried to wake you up, but you wouldn't open your eyes."

Her shoulders shook and there were wet trails going down her face. I could see that she was indeed chained up by her hands.

"Octavia, I'm awake now. I'll be all right." I reply, trying to sound convincing.

I couldn't ignore the pain I felt in my abdomen any longer, so I slowly lifted my shirt up to see a cut that extended from the top of my ribcage down a couple of inches. It was deep, but not deep enough to kill me. The only problem was I was losing a lot of blood, and my head was getting heavier.

"Shit," Octavia hissed seeing my injury.

I remove my outer shirt, leaving me in my ripped and now revealing tank top. I pressed my t-shit tightly to my wound, trying to slow the bleeding. I bit my lip to keep from crying out but couldn't help the tears that continuously poured down my cheeks.

"We need to find a way to get out of here," I reply weakly, realizing I wouldn't be strong enough much longer. "Why is the grounder keeping us?"

"I don't know," She responds grimacing. "I don't think he wants to hurt us."

I looked up at her confused, but I felt my eyes growing tired and I didn't ask her to elaborate.

"O, when he comes back we need to get the keys to unlock your hands." I say, trying to formulate a plan of escape. "You're not going to like it, but you need to leave me here."

"W-what?" a whisper in reply.

"I'm not strong enough to make it back, I'll only slow you down." I reply, still applying pressure.
