Chapter 25

Mark's Pov

3 days, 3 days until I leave Amy to get Jorden. I don't know if I am going to be able to leave her. I know Tyler and Ethan will protect her I am not worried about that. Ever since I met Amy she has not left my side, and if we were apart it was only for a few hours. I am not going to see her for weeks! I can't even have any contact with her in case they are tapping the phone. I don't know if I can handle not seeing her, not talking to her for weeks.

"You will be fine," Tyler said taking a sip of his coffee.

"Huh?" I asked looking around. Amy was watching tv in the living room with Ethan.

"I have known you for years, that look on your face says it all. Just think, the faster you go and get Jorden the sooner you can come back to her." He stood next to me in the kitchen.

"Tyler, what if when she gets better she doesn't want to...." I wasn't able to finish the sentence.

Tyler grabbed my phone from the table, he went through something then handed me my phone.

"Look at that, what do you see?" He asked.

I looked at my phone and saw a bunch of pictures of Amy and me, we are either sitting next to each other or she is on my lap. 

"I see Amy and Me." I looked at him.

"well, I see two people who have both been through their own struggles but when they look at each other all of the issues fade away. I see the start of a loving couple who just wants to be loved by one another. Mark, you already said that you will wait as long as she needs to be ready for the next step."

"I will wait as long as she needs, but what if when she is ready she doesn't feel the same about me?"

"Look at these pictures again, look at how she looks at you. Trust me, there will be a wedding for you too."

I took my phone back then continued to make dinner, I hope Tyler is right. I hope she doesn't fall for someone else.

After dinner, I helped Amy down to the sunroom to walk around, that is her favorite place to walk.

"I am up to 30 steps." She said smiling.

"You are doing great," I said as she stood up.

 "If you didn't have to babysit me, what would you be doing right now?"

"Babysit? Who said I was babysitting you?"

"Well, it is what you are doing." She started to walk forwards, I went behind her just in case she fell I could catch her.

"I don't count this as babysitting."

"Then what would you count it as?"

"Doing what I want."

"What does that mean?"

"I would rather be with you than anywhere else in the world right now."

"Even Disneyland?"

"Most definitely Disneyland."

She stopped walking and turned around, 

"What do you see in me that makes you want to love me?" She was almost in tears.

"I see an intelligent young woman who is lost, but she doesn't want to be lost. She has tried to get help but every person who said they would help her, hurt her. So she is scared to reach out, she stays lost in hopes that no one will ever hurt her again."

"But when I look at you,  I am not lost, I know everything that I need to know and I know that I am safe. I am not scared of anything or anyone."
