"So let me get this straight," Logan said looking at the two in front of him. They were currently in Patton's room, figuring that was probably the safest place to talk. Roman and Virgil sat of the edge of Patton's bed as Logan stood before them, arms crossed, interrogating them. Virgil's eyes weren't on Logan though, they were on Patton as he cleaned his room and just about anything else to busy himself. "You two went off to talk to each other about something all four of us are in on without us. It didn't even occur to you to let us in on this unless we were to ask you?"

"Look, Virgil just needed someone to talk to. And coming to me was the easiest option." Roman said. Virgil felt bad, not for letting Roman fight his battle here, but for not coming to any of the others or even waiting until the four of them were together. He had to admit, it was kind of a dick move. But there was nothing he could do about it now.

"What about Patton, who had the same class as Virgil at the time? Wouldn't he have been the easiest to talk to since he was already in the class with Virgil?"

"You know we can both hear you, right? Like we're both right here." The only reason Virgil found it in him to speak up was the look on Patton's face. It was clear to Virgil that something was bothering the happy-go-lucky male. He was quite and not taking part in the conversation like he normally would. Patton usually had something to say to get the any of them to stop fighting.

"If you really want to take part in the conversation then you can actually say something and actually speak up rather then just sitting there." Logan said. Virgil just stared at the logical one for a moment. Logan was being more sassy than usual. Virgil didn't know why.

"Logan, just stop it. Don't turn this on Virgil. It's not his fault that I'm just easier to talk to." Roman said. Virgil appreciated the fact that Roman was sticking up for him but he seemed to be forgetting about something. Or more like someone.

"Oh please, you and Virgil were fighting for the longest time. He couldn't possibly find you easiest to ta-"

"That's enough, all of you. We didn't come here to fight. We came here to talk about Virgil's discovery concerning his necklace. Can we please just talk about that?" Patton said finally speaking up. He sounded defeated. Virgil instantly felt guilty about the whole situation.

There was a pause before anyone spoke. "Alright Virgil, what is it that you found out?" It was Logan who finally broke the silence.

"Its nothing that I know for sure, but I overheard my mother speaking. She was talking about necklaces on the phone. I didn't hear her clearly but I believe she said that taking mine was the best thing she ever did." Virgil said a bit uncertain. He hadn't been 100% sure that was what he had heard but what other things could it be? As far as Virgil knew, his necklace was the only thing that he was missing.

"Then we need to confront her about it. It can't be like a Disney movie if you don't confront the villain." Roman said.

"This isn't some Disney movie Roman." Logan said, rolling his eyes at the creative one of the four. "But I do agree, we need to confront her."

"I don't really think that's a good idea. You guys don't know my mom. She'll probably freak if you guys just show up or something." Virgil said. Saying that his mother would freak would be an understatement. This woman was one of the reasons why Virgil never had any friends. He wasn't just a socially awkward kid who liked to keep his distance. His mother actually had a part to do with it - she usually scared all potential friends away. Virgil was quite surprised she hadn't tracked down Roman, Logan, and Patton and scared them away yet. Virgil never understood what she did to scare people away, nor did he know. Whether that was a good thing or bad thing, Virgil didn't really know.

"Okay, then warn her. Talk to her tonight and see when we can meet her. We'll talk to her then." Logan said. "And although it would probably be best to talk to her one on one, if she is untrustworthy as you make her out to be, then it would be safer if we went as a unit."

"Yeah. Villains don't attack people unless it's just them. So many movies show that." Roman said as if it were common knowledge. Which it wasn't that hard to see the pattern, even if you were only to watch like two Disney movies.

"Alright, So since you two seem to be the talkative ones today, you can figure out a plan because I really do not want to do it." Virgil said. Logan and Roman both nodded before casting a look in Patton's direction. It was almost as if they had only just noticed he hadn't said much. But Virgil knew otherwise. Sure they hadn't said anything or given any real indication they had both noticed Patton's silence. They had just been a bit busy to take the time to bring it up. What with planning and fighting and all that.

Virgil stood and went over to where Patton sat on the floor, going through an old pile of books. Virgil wordlessly held out a hand so he could help Patton to his feet. Patton seemed to get it instantly and grabbed Virgil's hand before standing. Once in his feet, Patton dragged Virgil out in the hall.

"What's up kiddo?" Patton asked, instantly wondering what was up with Virgil. Virgil's heart swelled at the thought. Here Patton was, with something clearly bothering him, but he was still putting his friends before him. It wasn't until then that Virgil started to realize just how much they - Roman, Logan, and himself - meant to Patton.

"As surprising as it might be, you and I both know that's not why I wanted to talk." Virgil said crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow at Patton. "Now spill."

Patton hesitated a moment and went to open his mouth. But then he closed it again. "It's nothing. Don't worry about it." Patton told Virgil, attempting to give him a bright smile. Virgil instantly noticed that it was fake, he had seen a fake smile enough times in the mirror to know what one looked like.

  "Patton."

Patton sighed, knowing that Virgil wouldn't let it go unless he spoke. "I'm fine really. Just some things are on my mind. Small things, nothing big enough to worry about." Patton said before flashing a smile that Virgil knew was an attempt to be reassuring.

Virgil just watched Patton for a moment, trying to decode what was going on. Patton was an open individual. Unless something was bothering him. He tried acting the same as usual but it just didn't fit. Something was off.

"Is it to do with what happened earlier? With Ashtyn?" Virgil asked before almost mumbling the last part, "or is because I spoke to Roman rather than you?"

"Aw, Virge, I'm not upset over that." Patton sent an apologetic smile, this one clear and true. "I guess what Ashtyn said just..." Patton didn't know how to continue, or maybe he just didn't want to.

"Left a seed of doubt." Virgil finished and Patton nodded. It was clear to Virgil that Patton was feeling guilty about that. But he was only human, it was okay that he doubted them, even if he hadn't actual reason to do so. Well, Virgil could see how his and Roman's actions could have made that doubt grow.

"Don't ever doubt yourself Patton. Ashtyn is a lousy person who's only goal is to bring the best of people down. Right now she might be trying to take you down, but that's because you're the best of us all. Patton if you need us, you know you can talk to us. We're your friends Patton, it's what friends do."

For a minute, Patton didn't say anything. He just stared at Virgil. But then before Virgil knew what was happening, he was wrapped up in Patton's arms. "Thank you, kiddo."

For the first time, Virgil didn't mind Patton calling him kiddo.

Oof. Kind of puts a sad Patton in here. But like for a cute moment between Virgil and Patton. I think it was kind of worth it if you ask me. After all sacrifices need to be made.

Also, random question. Does anyone here like WolfStar or Spiderson and Irondad? Because I'm writing some fanfics for those but they're kind of on the back burners right now. Let me know and I might just post one of them.

I think that's really all for this chapter. Have a good morning/ afternoon/ evening/ night.
